I came to know about this noodle shop from a friend's posting on the Facebook and also on her blog. I seldom go to this area where the noodle shop is located but I was interested in the noodles because I love pan mee or ban mee. I checked out the location just in case we do happened to be in that area.
Last Friday was our Golden Girls breakfast outing and it turned out that one of the Golden Girls couldn't meet us at our usual place. Her car had gone into the workshop for some repair work. It was decided that instead of having breakfast in Ipoh town, we will all go to pick her up from her house and eat somewhere nearby. And that was how we were able to try the food at Kedai Makan Ban Mee 101. It is located at 111, Medan Stesen 19, Taman Pengkalan Jaya, Ipoh.

As a friend has mentioned that it has been a long time we have not eaten this "loh mee", we decided to try this. We ordered 3 bowls of "loh ban mee"
The portion is quite big. We requested for the thick noodle. It came with meat balls, fish balls, slices of fish cake, meat slices and some greens.
Special sambal belacan sauce to eat with the "loh mee".
1 bowl of Plain "loh mee" in clear soup for a friend. Serve with greens, minced meat, wood fungus strips, deep fried anchovies, etc.
Side orders - some crispy deep fried bean curd rolls.
Side orders - 4 pieces of sui kow (dumplings) for 4 people.
The dumpling is big and costs MYR 1.20 each.
3 bowls of sweet oat porridge (mak chuk tong sui) and 1 glass plain water.
Kitchen at the back of the shop. Clean and comfortable place. We would love to return to try other version of Ban Mee, especially the Spicy Ban Mee. After a hearty breakfast, we stopped at the nearby Tesco Stores to do some shopping before heading for home.
Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart,
so does the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
(Proverbs 27:9, Jubilee Bible 2000-JUB)
