As usual, my day starts with an early morning walk, watering my plants in the garden, and if it is still early I might do some weeding in the garden. Then most of the day I will be staying indoors, doing whatever housework that needs my attention.
Due to the current heat wave in some states and ours is included, we are advised to stay indoors and to drink more water because of the excessive sweating.
One late afternoon, our friend sent us these pictures and informed us that they saw a snake in their compound. The heat could have caused the snake to come out of its habitat. The fire fighters were called to catch the snake.
Someone had been keeping a close watch on the snake and saw the snake slithered into a hollow steel pipe which is part of the framework of the outdoor extension.
After trying many ways to get the snake out of the steel pipe, the fire fighters left without catching the snake. Until now, no one knows what happened to the snake. It could have slithered away when no one unnoticed or it could have died inside the pipe.

Our friends wanted to have dinner at a new place known as Huan He Lai Seafood Restaurant at 69, Lengkok Desa Rishah 1, Desa Rishah, Ipoh. Much to our delight, part of the restaurant is air-con.
Sweet potato leaves stir fried with fermented beancurd or fu yu.
Steamed Tilapia fish with savoury sauce
I think this is the pork belly with salted fish cooked in clay pot.
Or was it chicken or pork rib? Oh dear, I am getting forgetful!
We usually ordered 3 dishes for 4 people but that evening, our friend wanted to try another dish. Half way through our dinner, we added another dish.
3 cups chicken dish in clay pot - small portion.

Work hard and cheerfully at all you do,
just as though you were working for the Lord
and not merely for your masters, remembering
that it is the Lord Christ who is going to pay you,
giving you your full portion of all he owns.
He is the one you were really working for.

I ever saw in the news that snakes appear in the toilet bowls of HDB flats in SG. Eeeewwww!
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do the snakes get into the sewerage system and up the sewerage pipes. So scary.
DeleteI have encountered rats entering my house via the sewerage pipes. so I guess if rats could do it, snakes could do it too.
Deletemy house garden has a snake too...we didn't notice it at first coz it was a small one and we thought it is a rope (can't see well at night). Then we hit it with broom and it slithered away to dunno where (can't see in the dark)
ReplyDeleteI will probably scream for help! And for the next few days, I will be very careful about going to the garden!
DeleteHope the snake really slithered away... so geli..
ReplyDeleteI hope so too!
DeleteOh dear. I would be very worried since the snake was not caught. Hopefully it has gone away and won't come back.
ReplyDeleteMe too! And I will worry whenever I go to the garden.
DeleteI think it should have escaped. The tilapia fish has disappeared under the sauce. must have been a satisfying dinner.
ReplyDeleteI hope the snake is no longer in the garden. The next time I visit my friend's house, I better look carefully when I go near the garden!
Deletesome snakes are not dangerous. you just be careful not to step on them.
DeleteHummm pratos deliciosos, aproveito para desejar a continuação de uma boa semana.

Delete...I've never struck up a friendship with snakes!
ReplyDeleteNeither have I and will never will!
DeleteI'm scared of snakes. Once a snake entered our house as the maid left the main door open and unattended. it is a long story how we noticed it after about a week and killed it.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed those mouth watering dishes on display here!
Oh my goodness! A snake inside the house for a week!
DeleteI am scared of snakes, but I seriously hope that it gets help and get back to where it belongs to. The dinner looks very very tasty.
ReplyDeleteI am scared of snakes too!
DeleteLas serpientes por aquí no son venenosas y no me preocupo por ellas, en el jardín hay algunas. Besitos.
ReplyDeletePoisonous or not, I am scared of them.
DeleteI imagine the snake is long gone.
ReplyDeleteI do hope so!
DeleteI hope the snake got away, they keep so many other pests away including rats and mice. Have a good day, Diane
ReplyDeleteI hope it got away and won't return.
DeleteGlad we still have to receive cool summer breeze and hot waves are expected to last from mid-April as usual, but I wish it wasn’t stronger. Hope the snake escape to wild or at least never turn back to your friend’s place. Lovely sky shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan! I hope so too!
DeleteNo on snakes. Don't care for them at all. I leave them alone at all costs.
ReplyDeleteOh your dinner. Delicious. You do dine so very well.
Have a fabulous day, Nancy. ♥
Yes, as long as they stay away! Have a beautiful day!
DeleteFantastic post!
ReplyDeleteKisses :)
Thank you, Elena!
DeleteOh my gosh! If that snake was not caught, I would have had to move out and stay in a hotel until it was found! You cannot keep them out, they just slither anywhere!!! Your first picture is gorgeous, the hilltop with the beautiful clouds.
ReplyDeleteYes, Ginny! If its my house, I would feel the same too!
DeleteI'm so glad that there are no snakes here in New Zealand!
ReplyDeleteIt is good to stay in New Zealand!
DeleteAnd, thanks for linking up over at My Corner of the World!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Betty for hosting. Have a great day!
DeleteNancy, I hate snakes, small or large, it doesn't matter, I get sick of the thought. Yuk! See ya.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
I feel the same way too!
DeleteI am not a fan of snakes, it would have worried me that it hadn't been caught. The food as always looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mamas! My imagination will run wild thinking of the snake.
DeleteHope the snake is gone for good.
ReplyDeleteYummy dinner. I love the fish and claypot pork belly.
Thank you, Rose!
DeleteUnless the snake was poisonous, i wonder about calling the firefighters. A non-poisonous snake is good for catching vermin around the house. We have many here, and seldom see them, but they are good for pest control.
ReplyDeleteMy friends were worried that the snake could be poisonous e.g. cobra.
DeleteWe don't have snakes in NZ!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why there is no snake in NZ!
DeleteOh! that scary!
ReplyDeleteYes, very scary!
DeleteI do not like snakes so this would make me jumpy
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteI would find that situation scary if I lived in that house or apartment block as a snake could have slithered anywhere. Amazing to see firefighters having a go at catching it. Have a good day Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear! Have a good day too!
DeleteOh gosh I'm shuddering as I read about the snake! Hope it has gone away.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. Anyway, my friends have forgotten about the snake incident.
