Yesterday morning, we began our morning walk at about 6:10 am. As we were almost reaching the shops behind our house, it began to drizzle. We started to quicken our walk but it began to rain. We have no choice but to run to the shops. We got a bit wet but not drench with the rain.
Passing by this corner coffee shop, I spotted this electric scooter. I have seen this scooter a few times but this is the first time I took a snapshot of it.
~~~~~
We walked to our regular coffee shop for breakfast and at the same time to wait out the rain. We only ordered 2 cups of coffee because our friend gave us 2 buns the moment we sat down at the table. When the rain slowed down, we walked home. We were offered umbrella but we declined. It has been along time since I last walked in the rain. I used to walk in the rain when I was in my teenage years. We took warm bath once we reached home.
Lunch for hubby.
I cooked instant noodle with some clams (lala), green veggie (choy sum), ginger strips and sesame oil. I bought 1 kg of clams (lala) for RM 10. A friend blessed me with some green veggie (choy sum).
A spoonful of spicy chili oil to go with the noodle.
A friend gave us 4 freshly baked buns which she bought from the nearby bakery shop. I ate 2 of these soft and fluffy buns with pineapple jam for my lunch.
Mid afternoon: Sweet papaya from my neighbour.
~~~~~
Dinner
With the clams (lala), I cooked drunken lala with clouds ear fungus, dried lily buds, pork belly slices, ginger strips, bird's eye chilies, and Chinese cooking wine.
I sent this portion of clam soup to our friend at the coffee shop.

Update on my home made salted chicken egg at 35 days.
At 35 days, the yolk of the salted egg became more grainy and has more oil. Thumbs up from hubby.
We enjoyed our dinner with the salted egg and hubby's favourite drunken clam soup.

DeleteIt has been ages since I actually walked in the rain and enjoyed it. But I used to not mind at all...and when I worked at the apple orchard I enjoyed working in the rain if it was a slow, gentle rain.
ReplyDeleteI too won't mind if it was a slow, gentle rain.

DeleteBecause of your blog, I bought some Asian seasoning from the store. Chili garlic paste, Red curry paste, Hoisin sauce, Oyster sauce. It will be interesting to experiment.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy experimenting with the Asian seasoning and love the food you cooked with the seasoning.

Thank you, Sandee. Have a beautiful day.
DeleteYour lala noodles with choy sum looks very tasty, just like those served in Go Noodles. The salted egg yolk look very good with the yolk oil so will you do another batch and keep them in salt water for 35 days instead of 30 days?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I think I will keep the salted eggs for 35 days.
DeleteWow! You both are adventurous to walk back in the rain. The song Singing in the rain by Gene Kelly comes to mind. So did you enjoy walking in the rain?
ReplyDeleteActually, I enjoyed walking in the rain but was worried I might catch cold or got sick.
DeleteI wish to have that kind of scooter...unique and simple
ReplyDeleteMe too.

DeleteWalking in the rain is fun if it isn't too cold. What a scooter! Do you think it belongs to a man or woman?
ReplyDeleteI think the scooter belongs to a woman.
DeleteWhat a cool scooter! Love your food photos, they always look so good!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to see you at 'My Corner of the World' this week! Thanks for linking up.
Thank you, Betty for hosting.
DeleteThat is quite a scooter, it would certainly not be easily mistaken for belonging to someone else!
ReplyDeleteThat is true because we rarely see this type of scooter in our area.
DeleteI like the scooter
ReplyDeleteI like it too.
DeleteLa papaya se ve muy buena. Un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteI would definitely love that homecooked lala soup as i know it would be sweet and tasty.
ReplyDeleteSweet and tasty lala soup.
DeleteYour lala dishes look fantastic! I see the lala has decent 'meat' inside. How do you tell if lala is fresh?
ReplyDeleteIf possible, I will choose those that are heavy with meat. The light ones are usually empty and filled with mud.
