It was raining when we woke up yesterday morning, (76th day MCO). When the rain stopped, hubby went out to the nearby shop to buy his breakfast.
Hubby's breakfast: Fried yee mee.
I don't feel like eating noodle so I ate cream crackers with home made pineapple jam and peanut walnut butter.

Lunch for 2 people
Hubby went out to help a friend submit documents for some claims and the way home, he stopped to buy a packet of rice with 2 spicy chicken drumsticks from the Mamak shop.

Home made snack
Out of the blue, I felt like eating mochi which is a kind of soft sticky rice cake rolled in crushed peanut and sugar.
Ingredients for tossing (can be prepared ahead)
- Fine white sugar or brown sugar
- Crushed peanuts (coarseness or fineness depends on your preference)
- Mix the peanuts and sugar together in a plate (sweetness according to your taste)
Soft glutinous or sticky rice cake
Simple recipe:
- 120 gm glutinous rice flour
- 10 gm cornflour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cooking oil (or shallot oil if preferred)
- 200 ml water
Mix all the above ingredients together until the salt dissolve.
Steam the mixture for about 15 minutes
Using a pair of chopstick, stir the steamed cake until it reaches a sticky consistency.
- Take out a portion of the steamed sticky rice cake and rolled into the peanut and sugar mixture.
- Then using spatula, cut the sticky rice cake into small bite pieces, covering the sticky rice with peanut and sugar mixture.
- I have left over toasted sesame seeds and I added the sesame to the peanut and sugar mixture.
Mochi for our mid afternoon snack.

Dinner
Kitchen was closed because the lazy cook don't feel like cooking.
Hubby went to buy take away dinner from the Claypot Chicken Rice shop.
1 fried mackerel fish
Sweet sour kai choy or Chinese mustard.
Stewed duck or puppy duck (kow chai ngap in Cantonese)
Dinner for 2 people with home steamed multi grain rice.

Late night snack
Left over mochi for late night snack while watching Singapore Chinese Drama. At the same time, by watching these dramas I hope to improve my Mandarin language.
An antique telephone
I can't recall where I saw this phone.
Caladium: Thai Beauty
This caladium died off and disappeared from my garden. Hope it will reappear some day just like some of my caladium plants.
In a race everyone runs, but only one person gets first prize.
So run your race to win.
To win the contest you must deny yourselves many things
that would keep you from doing your best.
An athlete goes to all this trouble just to win a blue ribbon or
a silver cup, but we do it for a heavenly reward that never disappears.
