Yesterday morning, I needed to go to the bank. Before going to the bank, we wanted to eat kai si hor fun or shredded chicken noodle soup for breakfast. We skipped our morning walk and went early for breakfast to beat the crowd. At about 7:50 am, parking was no problem and service was fast because not many dine-in customers.
Shredded chicken noodle soup or kai si hor fun.
This is the 2nd time we had this for breakfast during MCO.
We felt as if we hadn't eaten any thing even after eating a bowl of noodle and a cup of coffee.
Gardenia blooms with variegated leaves.

Home cooked dinner
Stinky beans or sambal petai with dried prawns and minced pork.
Assorted veggie in soup
(Home grown malabar spinach, angled loofah, red okra & dried prawns)
Simple home cooked dinner for 2 people.
Hubby ate the steamed rice and I ate oat porridge.
This snapshot of The Octagon "tower" was taken while waiting at the traffic light on the way to the bank after breakfast.
O my Strength, to you I sing my praises;
for you are my high tower of safety, my God of mercy.
(Psalm 59:17, The Living Bible-TLB)
...yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.

DeleteHello dear Nancy!
ReplyDeleteOh i like your home made dinner and your beautiful Gardenia!

Have a lovely day! Stay safe!
Dimi...
Thank you, DIMI. Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
DeleteIs that a crab stick on your Kai si hor fun? Why is it there? 😂
ReplyDeleteThis stall's version has a piece of crab stick. I don't like crab stick but its only 1 piece, so I don't mind.
DeleteYou mean the Kai si hor fun is so light that after you have eaten it and a cup of coffee, you felt like you haven't eaten anything at all?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the feeling. Ha ha maybe we have big stomach.
DeleteLove your home cooked dishes but I cannot eat so much for dinner. No photos of your oats porridge?
ReplyDeleteThe oat porridge not cooked yet.
DeleteLove your gardenias. I don't plant flowers anymore because they always have bugs in them and I don't like to spray poison on them.
ReplyDeleteThese are just the few remaining flowering plants I have in my garden.
DeleteI've not had breakfast yet and the food is making my stomach growl. You eat such wonderful food.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Nancy. ♥
Our city is food haven. Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteThe tower is amazing! Is that a glassed in area on top? Beautiful gardenia, including the leaves.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure because I haven't been up there.
Deletenice tower, is that residential tower?
ReplyDeleteYes and the ground flower commercial.
DeleteYour home cooked dinner looked so tasty.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mamas.
DeleteI also think the crab stick is out of place hehe. I don't find it cheap if I want to buy it, so wonder why it seems to be so common in food sold. The broth looks nice and thick.
ReplyDeleteProbably added for the colour. Really not sure why.
DeleteI like to eat kai si hor fun a lot. I miss going to malaysia for tour. I like the laid back environment in malaysia compared to city living in sg.
ReplyDeleteMalaysia welcomes you but you will have to wait till the border is open.
DeleteMe encanta la gardenia. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteSome foods are filling, and others are just not at all.
ReplyDeleteI suppose those not so filling will make us crave for more.
