I am putting up a short post today because I had a busy morning and afternoon. I need to settle all my bills, banking and etc. before the lockdown. From yesterday's announcement, our whole nation (except for 1 state) will be on lockdown starting this Friday 22nd January to 4 February. It didn't come as a surprise because of the increasing number of infected cases. We hope to see a decline in the cases, if not, then the lockdown will be further extended.
I went to the plant nursery some time end of last year to buy some garden soil. There were many types of vegetable seeds on sale and I picked up a few packets including the one below.
I can't remember the price of this packet of cucumber seeds. Probably about RM4 or RM5.
I sowed a few seeds and the seedlings have been transferred to a big pot.
The seedlings have now grown to about my height and I can see tiny cucumbers on the plants.
I am hoping that these tiny cucumbers will not drop off but continue to grow big.
Since we are getting less rain these days, I am starting to sow some other vegetable seeds.
Its a joy to see what we have sowed grow into healthy and fruitful plants. This is the reward of a gardener or farmer.

DeleteI will start to sow my seeds in the beginning of February. There is nothing better than going into the garden and picking fresh produce that you have grown yourself.

DeleteWhat great looking cucumbers! We did not grow any last summer, as I was still working, I will start our inside in about 6 weeks as we can't plant outside until the last week of May. We live in the mountains and sometimes we have late frosts. Seeing yours, I can't wait! Thanks for sharing! Have a marvellously Happy Day! (we are locked down too).

DeleteThe blossoms are so pretty. So what does lockdown there look like? Is there a curfew, where and when are you allowed out?
ReplyDeleteOnly 2 from the same household can go out in a car to buy essential. All districts and states borders are closed. Only certain shops are allowed to open within a given time. Only take away food, no dine-in.
DeleteFingers crossed that the cucumbers grow well. In this pandemic, it is safer to pay bills online. All bills should be payable online now since schools also can conduct online classes. It is the new norm. Are you paying some bills online already?
ReplyDeleteI can pay bills online but before pandemic, I like to go out to the UTC to pay bills and also at the same time to buy whatever I want to buy from the market.
