On the 2nd morning of lockdown (MCO 2.0), hubby was thinking of his hometown noodle i.e. Kopisan Lai Fun which we haven't taken for a long time. We drove out to the one nearest to us i.e. at Jalan Centrepoint 2, Taman Hoover, Ipoh. We were early and there was only 1 customer ahead of us.
We bought 1 portion of noodle (lai fun) and picked 12 pieces of mixed items (liew). We brought along our stainless steel containers for the takeaway.
A special container for the condiment - curry oil.
We also bought 4 pieces of deep fried crispy fish crackers as our snack.

The following photos were taken before the lockdown during one of our morning walks.
Early morning at 7:20am - birds flying out from the shelter of the nearby trees and settling on the power lines.
They were very noisy as if shouting "good morning" to one another.
Some even settled on top of the buildings.
Sometimes they will take off together, fly in one big circle and then returned to the power line.
More and more birds started to join them on the power lines.
These birds need not have to worry about social distancing or getting fined RM1k for not observing MCO SOP.
The chives in my garden are growing back again after the harvest and is not now flowering again. I will be collecting the seeds to grow more chives.

God is the one who gives seed to those who plant,
and he gives bread for food.
And God will give you spiritual seed and make that seed grow.
He will produce a great harvest from your goodness.

U mean your chives are now flowering again, right? Must be auto correct changed the now to not.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun for pointing out the mistake. I think its my own typing error.
DeleteCannot see the Lai fun in your photos. Is the Lai fun same as those in Assam laksa?
ReplyDeleteThe lai fun was buried under the "liew". It is not the same as the Assam Laksa lai fun which is translucent. This noodle is made from rice.
DeleteOh, I would love these rice Lai fun then cos I like the soft rice.
DeleteYes, I prefer this than the type of lai fun for assam laksa.
DeleteThose birds could be very noisy sometime. But it is nice to hear and see them hanging on the wire.
ReplyDeleteGood to bring own container or tiffin when tapau. I should do it too.
Yes, I don't mind the noise. It is a joy to hear and see them welcoming the new day with their noise and flying around. I prefer to use own container or tiffin just to avoid using plastics and also safer for holding hot soup.
DeleteOh so chives flowers look like these.
ReplyDeleteChives flowers and onions flowers look almost similar.
DeleteSo delicious! The chives are looking really healthy and good.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteThe flowers on the chives are rather nice - glad the chives are growing again.
ReplyDeleteThe birds, what a racket they must make when so many of them but be nice to hear though.
Thank you, Margaret.
DeleteBirds and powerlines are made for each other.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteHello, Nancy
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the loud sounds coming from all those birds. They do love to hang on the powerlines. Your chive flowers are pretty. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post! Take care, enjoy your weekend! PS, thank you for visiting and for the comment.
Thank you, Eileen. Have an enjoyable new week.
DeleteFeliz fin de semana. Besos.

DeleteYour breakfast choices are so different from ours... we tend to eat sweeter food, and more dairy.
ReplyDeletebe safe... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
We have a wide selection of choices for breakfast. We tend to eat more of savoury food. Take care and stay safe.
DeleteEverything looks so good and I love all the bird photos. The chive flower is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha.
Delete...the chive flower is delightful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
DeleteGood idea to bring your own tins to buy food for take out.
ReplyDeleteThere has been too much plastics been being used now since people are having to takeaway food.
DeleteThose photos about those birds on the wire reminded me about that scary movie called " The Birds " They were vicious and killed people. Every time I see birds on the wire I think about that movie.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Nancy and keep safe.

I am glad I didn't watch "The Birds" movie. I wouldn't be able to enjoy seeing the birds on the wire if I did. Take care and stay safe.
DeleteHello Nancy,:=) What a great sighting of all those birds. Can't really make out what kind they are. The Chive flower is pretty.
ReplyDeleteI only know that there are a few types but I don't know their names.
DeleteWhat a nice photos... Thanks for your sharing...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Camdandusler.
DeleteIt would be fun watching all those birds...that is how starlings do here.
ReplyDeleteThat is one reason why I enjoy my morning walk, getting to see the birds waking up from their sleep.
DeleteSo this is what clives look like when they bloom! I love this, because I always buy fresh chives at the grocery store. But I have never seen what they look like when growing.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 types of chives. There is one that doesn't flower.
DeleteWow so many birds!!! I loved seeing them all. The fish crackers look delicious! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rain.
DeleteThat's a lot of birds!
ReplyDeleteThese birds sleep in the nearby trees.
DeleteI also feel like eating lai fun now... See tomorrow, can drive there early and buy back... less than 10km should ok.
ReplyDeleteGo early to avoid queuing.

Thank you, Pimenta. I am also following you.
DeleteIt is so encouraging that you took your own containers for the takeout food. If only more people would adopt this simple measure it would make a real dent in the amount of garbage created by disposable food containers. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThank you, David. We are trying our best to reduce the usage of disposable food containers.
DeleteAt least plenty of good food to be had. People have adapted since the first shock of MCO 1.0.
ReplyDeleteWe understand that there is need for another MCO for protection but this 2nd round of MCO 2.0 is rather confusing.
DeleteStunning capture of birds ! The chives looks drool worthy. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Arun for hosting.
DeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteI never knew chives actually flower. pls give some tips on how to make them flower coz i've nvr seen mine flower
Actually, I thought all types of chives will flower because we eat chive flowers too. But surprisingly no, only some chives will flower. I have 2 types of chives. One type was given to me by a friend which will not flower. The seeds I bought from a plant nursery will flower. So I think it has nothing to do with tips, it depends on the type of chives.
