Harvested My First Long Bean & Crunchy Snacks

On the 2nd morning of MCO, I harvested the first long bean from my garden. I have grown long beans before and this is by far the longest I have harvested.

The above is the only long bean harvested because the rest were not due for harvest yet.
I measured it and it was 2 feet 6 inches long. Not easy to get the whole long bean into the screen of the camera.
With only 1 long bean and freshly harvested, I have decided to eat it raw with sambal dried prawn.
Home cooked dinner for 2 people without rice.
Taro cooked with roast pork, Blanched home grown Brazilian spinach and raw long bean with sambal dried prawn.
Received a comb of banana from my neighbour.

Snacks bought from a shop in our area.
Deep fried Honeycomb snack with sesame seeds.
Deep fried muruku snack.
This honeycomb snack is easy to bite, light and crispy, and breaks easily.
This is a bit hard to bite, sign of aging. Lol!
We bought some peanut candy from a roadside stall on one of our morning walk. Surprisingly, this is very fresh and crunchy, and not too sweet.

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweet and delightful to the soul and healing to the body.

  5. Every year, except this past year, our town has a festival. A booth there makes what we call rosettes...they are very, very light and crisp. And are sprinkled with powdered sugar and so good...your honey comb snacks reminded me of them.

  6. The peanut candy is not taxing to the teeth? I don't dare to eat peanut candy due to my weak teeth.

    1. I tried and surprisingly it was not taxing and I could easily bite on the peanut candy. Some were hard to bite, but not this maybe because it was fresh.
