Fried Pork Rib, Steamed Fish & Potato Leaves For Dinner

These sky shots were taken with hubby's photo because my phone battery needed charging.

Sun shining through the dark cloud.
The dark cloud couldn't hold back the sunrise.
The cloud seemed to be getting darker.
The sun rays pierced through.
A bit of this and that from my garden.
They are all harvest from old plants.

Brunch
Hubby bought mee goreng and rojak from the Mamak stall and I steamed the last bak chang (glutinous rice dumpling) given by neighbour. The container at the back with the cut cucumber contains the ingredients for the rojak.
I poured the rojak ingredients onto a plate and poured the sauce on top.

Dine out dinner with friends at Kopitiam Mun Soon, Taman Boon Bak, Ipoh.
Deep fried pork rib (foh yim pai kuat)
Sambal belacan sweet potato leaves.
Steamed Tilapia with spicy sauce.
Total cost of dinner including rice (small portion) and Chinese tea - about RM54.

I know you well; you aren't strong,
but you have tried to obey and have not denied my Name.
Therefore I have opened a door to you that no one can shut.

Lunch In Penang Before Driving Back To Ipoh

From Penang Hill, we reached the apartment just before 12 noon. Our bags were all packed and ready to go but we need to wait for the owner to collect the keys and check the apartment before claiming back our deposit. We got into the car and drove over to Ghee Hiang (next to Tropicana) to buy a few bottles of sesame oil and biscuits. We took snapshots of these cute sculptures in front of the building.

After Ghee Hiang biscuit shop, our friend directed us to a food court for lunch. I can't remember the name or place of the food court. We shared the following food items.
We bought 2 packet of nasi lemak with blue rice (blue pea colour).
Steamed kuih in brown sugar syrup.
Not enough, more to come.
Then came this rojak Mamak style
Chinese doughnuts or hum chim peng.
We find these tastier than those in Ipoh.
A bowl of assam laksa to taste.
Some roasted pork to taste.
Coffee with floral pattern.
Penang has their own white coffee.
Crossing Penang bridge back to the mainland.
Goodbye Penang, until our next visit.

Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and
believes him who sent me has eternal life and
will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

Seafood For Lunch At Kedai Makanan Tepi Sungai, Kuala Sepetang.

After a short walkabout and buying of some dried seafood stuffs, it was time to think about our tummy.
Kedai Makanan Tepi Sungai (riverside restaurant)
The restaurant is on the 1st floor.
"Come, follow me!"
We passed by these Mantis Prawns in a water tank.
A close up of a Mantis Prawn.
The 1st floor restaurant over looking the river scene.
A typical fishing boat on the river.
A jug of iced umbra fruit juice for 6 people
 Deep fried wontons or dumplings.
Deep fried soft shell prawns in batter.
Needn't have to bother with the shells, all can be eaten!
Nyonya assam fish (local call this "chicken meat fish")
 Steamed drunken prawns
Sweet sour and spicy mud crabs
We didn't order any rice or noodles.
Five types of dishes plus the drink about RM 180 for 6 people.
Customers can also order these fresh live cockles
And prawns kept fresh in this ice box.
On our way home, we stopped in Taiping for cendol ice.
And a plate of Pasembor (rojak).
We each had a small bowl of cendol ice.
A plate of Pasembor rojak.
Everyone gets to taste a little of it.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

Even honey seems tasteless to a man who is full;
but if he is hungry, he'll eat anything!

Egg On Toast, Sandwiches, Prawn Mee & Rojak Mamak.

Here are some of the regular places that we go to for our meals. Sometimes, we will go out to town in search of something new, or go to some places that we have not been to lately. There are also days when we are just contended to eat at nearby places. We do have some very tasty food in our residential area but we can get bored if we go too frequently.

~ Breakfast ~
I am not a very fussy eater but I do love varieties. Sometimes, I prefer to eat something light like this breakfast consisting of 2 half boiled eggs on toasted bread with a hot coffee. I just found out that some called this "roti goyang" in Malay or is it "roti telur goyang"? It means wobbling egg on toast.
I usually have the eggs on toasts breakfast at Restoran Big Oriental, Persiaran Greenhill, Ipoh. We too enjoyed the steamed glutinous rice dumpling and the Georgetown wanton mee.

~ Brunch ~
There was one afternoon when we were in this part of town and we stopped at this place for a simple brunch. I looked at all the stalls and couldn't decide what to eat. I ended up ordering these chicken, egg and cheese sandwiches.
The sandwiches were from Kedai Kopi Sun Sun Cafe, Jalan Medan Ipoh 1E, Medan Ipoh Bistari, Ipoh.

~ Lunch ~
Once in a while, hubby and I enjoy this vegetable rojak from the Mamak stall in Taman Pertama. It is a sweet spicy vegetable salad consisting of cucumber, yam bean, beansprout, fried tofu, fried fritters with sweet spicy sauce.
Sometimes, we also look forward to a bowl of prawn noodle.
When we crave for both items and yet cannot decide which to order....
We then ordered one of each to share to satisfy our craving. A win win solution at Restoran Winner, Taman Pertama, Ipoh.

As for you, you were dead in your trangression and sins,
in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world
and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air,
the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
All of us also lived among them at one time,
gratifying the cravings of our flesh and
following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest,
we were by nature deserving of wrath.
