Waxed Duck, Bottle Gourd Soup & Nai Pak Choy

 This was a nice cool and clear morning. We got ready for morning walk.

Sunrise at 7:02am.
On the reverse side - Kledang Hill.
We settled for shredded chicken noodle for breakfast at our regular coffeeshop.
The boss added a chicken liver to hubby's bowl of kai si hor fun (shredded chicken with flat rice noodle).
He also added something to my bowl: 2 pieces of fried fish cake.
2 bowls for RM11.00, no extra charge for the add-ons.

Home cooked dinner on a rainy evening.
I boiled soup with bottle gourd, carrot, goji berries, red dates and roast pork bones.
Steamed 1 waxed duck leg. This is hubby's favourite.
Stir fried home grown nai pak choy and ladies fingers with pork slices.
Our dinner on a rainy evening, eaten with steamed brown rice.
The bowl with more soup was hubby's. I like to drink and also eat the soup ingredients. That is the reason why I prefer not to eat rice.

But, O my soul, don't be discouraged.
Don't be upset. Expect God to act!
For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason
to praise him for all that he will do.
He is my help! He is my God!

Chinese Rojak, Bubur Cha cha Sweet Drink & Waxed Duck.

Yesterday morning (93rd day MCO), we were out of the house by 7:05 am for our morning walk. The following snapshot of the sky were taken on our morning walk.

Can you see the pigeons resting on the telephone lines?
Sunrise at 7:14 am.
Sunrise at 7:16 am
We each had only a cup of unsweetened coffee (no food) at our regular coffee shop before walking back home
Snapshot of morning sky at 8:03 am, taken on our way home.
These are the vegetables I bought on our morning walk.
Our breakfast.
2nd portion of fried tom yam beehoon with chili oil for extra oomph.
For lunch, we had Chinese rojak (fruit salad) with sweet peanut dipping sauce.
Hubby ordered unsweetened coconut water and I had bubur cha cha sweet drink with coconut milk.

Simple home cooked dinner
Steamed waxed duck
This was the last piece, bought before Chinese New Year.
Steamed salted chicken egg
Instead of boiling the salted egg, I steamed it together with the waxed duck and rice.
Sauteed assorted veggie with spicy sambal paste.
(remnants of choy sum, red okras, and snake beans from the fridge)
Our simple dinner.
Golden dragon mango for dessert.
From my garden.
Sparkles from the water collected in the Sunset bells.

The LORD their God will save his people on that day
as a shepherd saves his flock.
They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.

Hakka Noodle, Monk Fruit Sweet Drink & Steamed Waxed Duck

It rained yesterday night, 26th day MCO. I was watching a Chinese drama when suddenly there was lightning and loud thunder. The TV screen went blank and then back to normal again. I quickly switched off and unplugged both the TV and my computer. Life would be real boring without the TV and computer during this MCO.
 I managed to capture this sunrise at 7:06 am.
 This was at 7:20 am.
 7:25 am
 Last snapshot at 7:38 am

Sunday breakfast, 26th day MCO
Hubby went out to buy Hakka noodles. All food stalls are being strictly monitored. They can only start selling from 8:00 am sharp onward.
 Hakka noodle with minced meat (dry version).
 Meat balls, fish balls and stuffed tofu.
 Breakfast for 2 people.
~~~~~
Monk fruit (loh han kuo) with chrysanthemum drink.
 1 dried monk fruit (loh han kuo) and chrysanthemum buds.
Rinsed and drained. Break up the monk fruit and boiled together with the chrysanthemum buds. The monk fruit drink has some natural sweetness.
 Monk fruit or loh han kuo drink
 Steamed buns
Chicken minced meat bun from a friend.
Kaya bun and red bean bun from our neighbour.
 Our lunch
In return, I blessed my friend and neighbour with the loh han kuo drink.
Christ is our peace.
He made both Jews and Gentiles into one group.
With his body, he broke down the barrier of hatred that divided us.
Crystal Vegetable, Stuffed Fish & Stir Fried Fresh Mushrooms For Lunch
After both my sons went back to work, I still have plenty of food stocked up in the fridge. That means the cook cannot take leave but have to continue to cook to clear the stock. Here is one of the home cooked lunches.
Fresh Crystal or Ice Vegetable
 I like to eat crystal vegetable with Kewpie roasted sesame dressing.
 Plain stir fried fresh mushrooms with snow peas, ginger slices and garlic.
 Fried Stuffed Fish with spicy paste. I cut off too much of the tail, so not very presentable. I only know this fish as Ikan Cencaru (in Malay). My elder son brought back 10 fishes from his fishing trip when he came back for the Chinese New Year celebration.
 Leftover 3 pieces of steamed waxed duck (hubby love this).
 Steamed a little multi-grain rice for hubby.
 The Pangkor Treaty
The following photos were taken in my garden.
 In one of my earlier posts, I shared about a pink hibiscus coming out from a yellow hibiscus plant. After the flower wilted and dropped off, I noticed another pink bud (above) from the same stem.
This is same plant as the pink hibiscus but all this time, it only has yellow hibiscus with multi layer petals.
 This is another yellow hibiscus but the petals are in single layer. You can see the leaves in this picture is different from the previous two photos.
Long ago God spoke in many different ways to our fathers
through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face,
telling them little by little about his plans.
But now in these days, he has spoken to us through his Son
to whom he has given everything and through whom
he made the world and everything there is.
