This morning woke up again to see another hazy day! Instead of clearing up, the haze is back, worse than before. It looks like the haze is here to stay for another few more months as some has reported.
Everywhere we look is this grey, grey sky and it is making me very sleepy.
The schools were affected because of the bad haze situation.
They have plain pumpkin buns, BBQ pork buns, salted preserved veggie buns (mui choy pau), coconut buns, etc. Limited quantity available.
For that particular morning, I ordered a veggie bun and a coconut bun. Our favourite is the coconut bun. I like the pumpkin bun too.
This is Kedai Kopi Dan Restoran Sun Heng, in the middle of a row of shops directly facing the Canning Garden market in Ipoh. The road is Lorong Cecil Rae.
A big advertising board and 2 parallel fencing, the outer one a rusty fence.
Linking to Good Fences.
So many enemies against one man - all of them trying to kill me.
To them I'm just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.
They plan to topple me from my high position.
They delight in telling lies about me.
They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts.
(Psalm 62:3-4, New Living Translation-NLT)

Deletewhat a great post..i am a foggy, misty, rainy, stormy day lover...out here on the Plains of West Texas, we get very little rain...so...when it's rainy, we love it...:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, BJ. We get plenty of rain here but now even with the downpour the haze caused by opening burning came back worse than before and it is very bad for our health.
DeleteSo sorry for the haze that is hanging around where you live. It's never good for health especially those who have breathing problems.
ReplyDeleteThe steam buns looks tasty.
Hugs,
JB
Thank you, Julia. Those with health problem are told to stay indoors. Have a happy day!
DeleteHello Nancy!:) I had to scroll down pretty quickly to pass all the yummy looking food, as I'm on a diet.:( Nice kitty fence shots. So sorry about the haze situation.

DeleteNANCY I hate haze,. The second photo with cat is great
ReplyDeleteGosia, we are fed up with the haze but we have to bear with it yearly! Have a great day!
Deletereally sorry about the haze returning and worse than before. breakfast looks good. love the cats at rest - perfect fence posers. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Theresa. This year we really have a very bad haze over us. Have a lovely day!
DeleteThey look delicious. I find it interesting how different cultures have different things for breakfast. (And other meals) But those steamed buns looks just delicious! Now I am hungry!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Erika. Over here we have a mixture of different cultures and we have plenty of interesting and yummy choices to choose from for our meals.
DeleteGood selection of fences. Of course my favorites are the ones with the cute kitties behind them. So sorry that you have had so much haze and bad air quality there. The steam buns sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ida. Looks like we have to bear with the haze and hope it will go away soon.
DeleteOh, so sorry about the haze. I was in L.A. when they had some kind of haze that hung over the city most of the day. I'd never seen anything like it. It's caused there by pollution, I think? Someone said the sun has to come out and "burn it off?"
ReplyDeleteStephanie, we are praying for rain to come to wash away the haze and dust particle and also heavy downpour to put out the fire where it is burning and causing all this haze problem.
DeleteThose kitties look like real sweeties.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, William. I too think they are real sweeties!
DeleteLove tgese pau too.. Very fast sold out one...
ReplyDeleteYes, Claire, must go there early. And the lady only makes small amount!
DeleteWow! So many buns. I myself prefer char siew and kaya buns.
ReplyDeleteRose, the char siew bun here is also tasty. I am not sure whether they sell kaya buns. Next trip I will have to find out.
DeleteYa lor, heard that the haze is stay for few more month, haiz...
ReplyDeleteSharon, looks like we have to suffer longer lor....really sien lor.
DeleteNothing beats homemade! And I love the cats! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Homemade is always the best and yes, love the cats too!
DeleteI should not have come here...i am hungry and you show all this food! (Just kidding...oh, I am hungry, but I don't need to eat.) Anyway, that is sure a nice fence.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose. Ha ha... I am also trying to diet. I love to eat but now controlling the amount.
DeleteThe steamed buns look wonderful, way better than my oatmeal :-)
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Thank you, Amalia. I think oatmeal is more healthier than steamed buns. Have a great day!
DeleteI love BBQ pork buns! This is a great breakfast, Nancy. On the haze, I hope we see blue skies soon. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. I really hope so. I can't even see the nearby Kledang Hills, they have totally disappeared from view!
DeleteThe haze is moving up north, take care.
ReplyDeleteI always liked cats that look like Persian ones, like that second cat in your pics.
Thank you, Stacy. Now the haze is moving from south to north and that is Ipoh and Penang! That persian cat is a beauty!
DeleteI love char siu & coconut buns I don't think I come across or eaten mui choy pao. Something new to me.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Irene. Actually I love all kinds of pau, but I prefer the savoury ones.
DeleteHaze haze haze ! We are suffering! Torturing us :( I'm sleepy and moody, my eyes are teary too because of the dusty particles ... rather uncomfortable. Anyway, still got to eat ... I like hot steamed buns too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Karen, this is what I am feeling too, so uncomfortable and misearable. But life has to go on and eat, we must!
DeleteHi Nancy, totally agreed with you that this year haze situation is the worst.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lay Hoon. Have a wonderful weekend!
