I was enjoying the Cockscomb flower in my garden when I noticed this green insect on one of its leaves. It didn't fly away even when I moved near to take its picture.
It was too busy eating the leaf!
I scooped it up with a garden spade and threw it out of my garden.
I hope it will not come back again.
Another cute insect but an enemy of my plants. It would enjoy the leaves of my plants and leave behind its black droppings.
I don't know what this is. Is it a moth? I saw this on the garden wall.

Saw a few of these birds flying over me in the garden. Some settled on the ropes but when I tried to take their picture, only 2 remained. I don't know their name.

3rd specie - this is a small bird, likes to visit my red firecracker flowers to suck the nectar.

Well, the birds will take care of some of the insects. That's a good thing for you and for the birds too. After your losing that beautiful plant to bugs I hope that doesn't happen again.

DeleteIt always makes me wonder how you manage to take shots of birds. It was always a failure to me cos with the slightest movement they will fly off. Is it not grasshopper the green insect? Look alike to me.
ReplyDeleteIrene, it is not easy for me too. I have many failed attempts and some turned out very blur and of poor quality. Yes, the 2nd green insect is the baby grasshopper.
Deletethe rooster made me laugh. :) i know with your plants, you don't like to see the insects devour them. i think those birds might be similar to the eurasian collared-doves in europe and now making themselves at home in north america, too.
