Homemade herbal jelly (gui ling gao)
We blessed our neighbour with some herbal jelly.
~~~~~
Dinner
Red yeast rice wine chicken soup
Ingredients: free range chicken, wood fungus, red dates, goji berries, red yeast rice wine)
Blanched the remaining green veggie (siew bak choy) and drizzled with garlic oil and soy sauce.
Steamed rice for hubby and I prefer noodle in chicken soup for me.
Dessert
Chilled herbal jelly for dessert.
This is soothing to the throat, helps to cool down the body heat and has many health benefits.
When we ask the Lord's blessing upon our drinking
from the cup of wine at the Lord's Table, this means,
doesn't it, that all who drink it are sharing
together the blessing of Christ's blood?
And when we break off pieces of the bread
from the load to eat together, this shows that
we are sharing together in the benefits of his body.
(1 Corinthians 10:16, The Living Bible-TLB)
I LOVE the gui lin gao in the hot humid summer days :-)) Miss them!! Beautiful sky shots, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. Chilled gui lin gao very good for the throat. We enjoyed it very much.
DeleteI have never heard of this jelly. What is the pretty decorated red item on the plate? Did it come out of a mold?
ReplyDeleteThe red item is a sweet cake. We call it "ang koo kuih". The skin is made from glutinous flour and it has lotus seed or bean paste filling.
