Fried Dumplings, Gaozi, Home Grown Veggies For Dinner

I was watering my plants one morning when I noticed a butterfly on my periwinkle plants. It seemed to like the white periwinkles and it didn't fly away even when I was standing quite near taking all the snapshots.

It is not often I get to take photographs of butterflies without them flying away.
After I had taken enough of snapshots, I continued watering my plants.
Hubby went to visit his friend in Pusing and came back with some kuih.
These are glutinous rice flour kuih with different types of filling.
The above were harvested from my garden. They were red and green okras, and white brinjals/eggplants/aubergines.
Steamed red and green okras, and white eggplants. Drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Deep fried sui kao or dumplings.
My friend brought the gaozi skin and I prepared the filling.
I boiled lotus root soup and we placed the cooked gaozi in the soup.
2 types of dipping sauce for the gaozi and fried sui kao.
Dinner (without rice) for 4 people.
We each had 1 sui kao, 3 gaozi and a bowl of soup.
The same butterfly with its many poses.
~~~~~
We kept the extra gaozi and fried dumpling for the next day's dinner.
1. Pan grilled stingray fish and squid (wong kai lun) with sambal paste. 2. Angled luffa. 3. Fried sui kao. 4. Soup with gaozi. For 2 evenings, we had friends over for dinner and they enjoyed our home grown veggie.
Linking to Saturday's Critters & Garden Affair.
Dear brothers,
giving thanks to God for you is not only the right thing to do,
but it is our duty to God
because of the really wonderful way your faith has grown
and because of your growing love for each other.
Noodles, Gaozi & Mung Bean Glutinous Rice Dumplings
Once again we passed by this house on our morning walk. Again, we saw chickens on the concrete wall.
At first, there were 2 roosters on the concrete wall.
As we walked nearer, there were 2 roosters and 1 hen on the concrete wall.
~~~~~
Later that morning, we had breakfast with our friends.
I ordered 2 bowls of Hor Hee noodle. I had the glass noodle (tong fun), while my friend has the flat rice noodle (koay teow). This Hor Hee noodle is quite tasty.
Another friend ordered the pork noodle.
Hubby ordered the prawn noodle.
I ordered 6 pieces of gaozi for sharing, 1 eaten.
Over all, we enjoyed our breakfast.
This is my first visit to Restoran Ko Pi Tim in Taman Ipoh Timur.
~~~~~
Simple lunch at home
My friend gave us 2 glutinous rice dumplings from Penang.
This dumpling has more mung bean than glutinous rice, so it was not so filling. Those who likes lots of mung bean will enjoy this dumpling.
Enjoy prosperity whenever you can, and when hard times strike,
realize that God gives one as well as the other -
so that everyone will realize that nothing is certain in this life.
Birthday Dinner At Dozo, De Garden, Ipoh
This is a special dinner to celebrate a birthday. No, no, not my birthday but a friend's birthday. This is my first visit to Dozo. This birthday was celebrated in the company of 4 people. I don't have the receipt with me and I can't remember the names of the food we had. The ordering of food was left to my friend.
 A bowl of fried rice
 Something with lots of cheese.
One piece for each person.
 A salad bowl. We enjoyed this salad very much.
 The salad consisted of ice or crystal vegetable which I love to eat.
 Saba fish
 Dumplings
 Cheesy pizza with crunchy fried rice base.
The above food was shared by 4 people.
Pink spider flowers or Cleome.
Every now and then a Cleome plant or two will sprout out from the ground in my garden and bless me with beautiful blooms.
Love and Truth meet in the street,
Right Living and Whole Living embrace and kiss!
Truth sprouts green from the ground,
Right Living pours down from the skies!
Oh yes! God gives Goodness and Beauty;
our land responds with Bounty and Blessing.
Right Living strides out before him,
and clears a path for his passage.
Dinner At Aneka Selera Restaurant Kam Wah & A Stop At The Ipoh Railway Station.
We have not been to Aneka Selera Restaurant Kam Wah for dinner for a long time, probably almost a year. We thought of going back for the pandan rice but found the stall closed. Since we were there, we went for other options.
 We ordered a plate of chicken rice, with also added some bbq meat and sweet sour green mustard.
 We also ordered a grilled spicy stingray fish or ikan panggang.
We enjoyed this very much because of the delicious spicy paste.
 And because I like to eat Gyoza dumplings, I ordered a small plate of mixed gyozas.
It was still early and bright after our dinner. We stopped at the Ipoh Railway Station, just to have a walk around and check out the growth of the Ipoh tree.
 Ipoh sign in front of the railway station.
Side view of the garden in front of the railway station.
Ipoh Town Hall opposite the railyway station.
Can you see the sparrows in a row? There are very common sparrows.
 As I moved closer, most of them flew away except for these 2 birds.
The rest settled on the grass nearby.
Here is the Ipoh tree, planted to replace the one uprooted during a big storm.
There were others enjoying their walk or stroll in the garden.
Front view of the Ipoh Town Hall.
We have just celebrated the National Day less than 2 weeks ago.
Front view of Ipoh Railway Station in the evening.
 The setting sun behind the railway station.
 Main entrance of the railway station.
 Driving home.
 The sun setting over the mountains.
 We reached home just before 7 pm with the setting sun just behind the mountains.
The following photos are for joining Friday Bliss since the Floral Bliss has stopped.
 Frangipani flowers from my sister's garden.
 Sunset Bells from my garden.
Due the cool weather and semi shade, these sunset bells are doing well.
Japanese roses
Yellow and deep pink Japanese roses.
Pretty tiny pink flowers of the Green Shamrock.
 Orange Bauhinia Kockiana in full bloom in front of my house.
Sometimes they are in round clusters, sometimes they are like this long clusters.
 Looking forward to the sweet fragrance of these Jasmine flowers.
From the buds to flowers.
Just as lotions and fragrance give sensual delight,
a sweet friendship refreshes the soul.
