Beautiful Critters At Gopeng AgroTech Farm

After we have finished touring the outdoor farm in the hot sun, we returned to the main building to cool down.

There 2 are the star attraction.

The owners took the birds out from their cage and placed them on the stands.

Visitors were taking snapshots of these birds.

These 2 are very friendly and they make loud squawking sound.

Driving Up The Hill To Gopeng AgroTech Farm

Monday, 28th November was declared a public holiday by our new Prime Minister as he had promised. We thought it will be good to visit Gopeng AgroTech Farm and check out the place since we haven't been there. We started our journey at about 10:30am from Ipoh. We took a few wrong turns when going up the hill because there was no signboard to lead the way. We had to stop to ask a few passersby and finally found the place at about 11:40am.

Here we were outside Gopeng AgroTech Farm.

Entrance fee is RM3 for both adults and children. Entrance fee will be exempted for those staying in or having lunch here. Lunch needs to be pre-order a day ahead.

These yellow dragon fruits have thin thorns on the skin of the fruits unlike the normal red skin dragon fruits.

I have not tasted this yellow dragon fruit. I don't know if the taste is same as the red dragon fruit. I don't remember seeing these being sold outside.

Triplets yellow dragon fruits. On the ground are the Chinese chives.

Cekur manis or Sayur manis (Malay) or mani cai (Chinese) or sweet vegetables.

Periwinkles

Seedless Jambu batu or guava seedlings.

Chinese mustard green or kai choy seedling.

Very healthy and tender.

We were tempted to buy the vegetables but didn't.

Kangkong or water spinach.

Wash basin in front of the wash rooms.

From Sauk To Syamille AgroFarm And Back To Ipoh.

While we were enjoying our lunch at the restaurant in Sauk, we were told that there is an Agro Farm nearby where we can visit. It was on the way back to Ipoh. Friend B told us to keep a sharp look out for the signboard on the right side of the road. Hopefully, we won't miss it.

 Here it is - Syamille Agro Farm Sdn. Bhd.

 We have to drive on a narrow path and we almost wanted to turn back. In a short while we saw the entrance to the Agro Farm.

This was the first thing that caught my attention. Jack fruits on a Jack fruit tree! Just look at the fruits touching the ground. They were wrapped and supported by some sort of straw.

 Next to the Jack fruit tree is this unique wooden building.

 It looks like a classroom for religious teaching. 

 There are chalets and greenery all around.

 A very quiet place surrounded with fruit trees and plants.

This is the only active one. 

 The others were feeding and some were resting under the shade.

It was just a short visit. We didn't walk about the whole place because the weather was too hot.

Back into the car and back on the highway again.

There was not much traffic on the road.

It was a nice, leisure drive all the way back to Ipoh.

All thanks to Friend B for driving us to Sauk, the Agro Farm and then back to Ipoh.

Near the toll booths. The Ixora plants seem to be doing very well. They are blooming beautifully in this hot weather.
