Dinner With Friends At Kedai Makan Tuck Kee, Ipoh.

Our dinner date for this particular evening was at 6.30 pm and the place was at Kedai Makan Tuck Kee, Jalan Theatre, Ipoh. We couldn't park along that road because there were heavy machinery and road barricades blocking the way. We then took a big round to find parking at another road and walked to Kedai Makan Tuck Kee,
This is the reason for the road blockage.
Paving the road surface with concrete blocks.
Certain portion of the road was closed to traffic.
Preparing the road surface for the laying of concrete blocks.
The ground was still wet from the rain.
There was a beautiful rainbow over Ipoh city.
The other end of the rainbow behind the new Octagon building.
I was seated facing this cute painting and out came my smartphone and "click!"
Another "click" on my right just before the food was brought to our table.
Sambal chili for dipping.
We started with blanched or boiled octopus. Best eaten with sambal chili.
Followed by Stewed Chicken Feet. Also best eaten with sambal chili.

A big bowl of flat rice noodle with thick gravy. We called it "wat tan hor".
Stir fried mixed noodles - wet version (beehoon & koay teow).
Stir fry yee mee, (ready deep fried noodle).
Stir fried big, fat noodle.
By the time we finished our dinner, it was about 7 pm.
It was a weekday and service was fast!
It was still bright after our dinner, I took another snapshot before walking to our car. Looking forward to see the completed work.

And as we live with Christ, our love grows more perfect and complete;
so we will not be ashamed and embarrassed at the day of judgment,
but can face him with confidence and joy because he loves us
and we love him too.

The following photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
My friend sent me these beautiful moth photos taken from her garden in the evening.
Photos credited to Aislynn.
I found this snail on my plant one morning after the rain.
Oblivious to my presence, it went on feeding.
After the photo shots, it was transferred out from my garden onto the roadside grass.

Dim Sum Breakfast At One Seven Eight Restaurant, Menglembu.

One evening when we were in Menglembu with friends for dinner at a restaurant, we saw this banner at the next door shop with a promotion that states "Eat All You Can" at RM 13.80 per person. Few mornings later, the four of us went to try out the promotion at this new dim sum place.
At 8.30 am, we started the drive to Menglembu. It was raining heavily the previous night and had been drizzling till early morning.
It was a very cool morning. You can see the misty Kledang hill.
One Seven Eight (178) Restaurant, Laluan Rasa Jaya 2, Taman Rasi Jaya.
(next to Restauran Mun Ji).
We were informed that we have a choice whether to take the promotion (RM 13.80 per head) or RM 2.80 per plate. We chose the promotion.
On the counter was a tray of deep fried dumplings (wanton). This was the only deep fried items. We didn't try these.
Multi-coloured steamed buns. We also didn't try these buns.
For a start, we choose a few items and have it cut into halves to try first. We started with the following items. It is self-service and we have to collect the food items from the counter to our table.
From top left: Steamed big bun, chicken glutinous rice, 2 types of dumplings, bean curd rolls and seaweed rolls.
There were also fish balls and cuttlefish balls.
On the left: 2 types of prawn dumplings.
On the top right: steamed pork ribs and chicken feet.
We took another plate of chicken feet and pork rib items. We then tried the stuffed items: stuffed bitter melon, eggplant and tofu.
We like these prawn dumplings and requested for additional plate each.
Requested for another plate each of the above.
And our last 6 plates to round up our dim sum breakfast.
This was indeed a fulfilling dim sum feast!

So let us feast upon him and grow strong in the Christian life,
leaving entirely behind us the cancerous old life
with all its hatred and wickedness.
Let us feast instead upon the pure bread of honor
and sincerity and truth.

Noodle-Free Breakfast & Lunch For Me.

Most days I have good appetite for noodles but there are some days I do not feel like eating noodles. On those noodle-free days, I will usually take toast bread.
One particular morning we were in Pusat Makanan Sun Hor Lok at Persiaran Greenhill for breakfast. Hubby ordered Pork noodle and I ordered toast baguette slices with tuna salad.
For lunch, hubby and I together with a friend went to Gunung Rapat for Assam Laksa. Surprisingly, I didn't order laksa. Hubby and friend ordered laksa with some add-on (liew).
No laksa for me but I ordered this yummy plate!
Fried yam ball and blanched cuttlefish rojak or sweet and spicy salad.

Give thanks to the God of gods, for his loving-kindness continues forever.

Shopping For The New Year.

This year is coming to a close in a few days’ time. For the year 2017, the first day of Chinese New Year celebration falls on 28th January. If you haven’t done your shopping yet, this is the time to do so while you still have about 4 weeks’ time before the big day arrive.

One particular website that I visited recently was www.tidestore.com which caters to both men and women. I have my eyes on a few tops which will be suitable to usher in the New Year.
For the older generation Chinese, it is taboo to wear dull or dark coloured clothing during the Chinese New Year celebration but for the younger ones, dark or black is in fashion. For those who are interested, you can also check out the discount knitted dress page at http://www.tidestore.com/Wholesale-Sweaters-101054/.
For soccer fans, you may want to check out this wholesale aaa jersey for some cheap soccer jerseys and pants that you can wear for your workouts or give them as gifts for your love ones. Besides dresses, shoes for both men and women are also available. Looks like sexy high heels boots are in fashion. If you are thinking of buying one pair for yourself, you can check out the reasonably cheap knee high boots at http://www.tidestore.com/Wholesale-Knee-High-Boots-101117/ on the same site. The knee high boots come with both low and high heels. I like knee high boots but I have not tried wearing them.

My Catus Plant (Euphorbia Viguieri Ankarafantsiensis) Is Flowering!

Beginning of this year in January, I did a post on my cactus plant. It has such a long name - Euphorbia Viguieri Ankarafantsiensis!
I brought back this plant from Taiping. My friend's mother gave me a baby plant.
Now the plant has grown into 3 branches.
I didn't expected this plant to flower. In fact I was quite happy with the deep pink centre.
I was taken by surprise when I saw this tiny stalk one morning.
I couldn't believe what I saw!
These are the flowers of my cactus plant.
The flowers are red and very small. They are pretty but not outstanding when seen from afar.
A wonderful blessing and bonus to see my cactus plant blooming!
This is part of the joy and reward of gardening.

Happy is the man who doesn't give in and do wrong when he is tempted,
for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life
that God has promised those who love him.

View Of Ipoh From 21st Floor Majestic Tower, Ipoh.

My sister-in-law, family and friends were on holiday and they made a stop in Ipoh to spend a night at the Ipoh Majestic Homestay. Before they check out the next morning, we dropped by to visit them. They enjoyed their stay at one of the apartments on the 15th floor. The apartment is new, clean and fully furnished.

We were then taken to the top floor (21st floor). Here the occupants can rent the whole place for holding parties or functions. Its a pity we didn't get to see Ipoh lighted up with the night lights but the day view was equally beautiful. For Ipohites, we can easily identify the different landmarks. Sit back and enjoy an overview of Ipoh city from the 21st floor of Majestic Tower.
