Health Drink (Mo Far Kor + Monk Fruit) & Beef For Dinner

It had been raining almost daily for the past week and the weather is very much cooler now.

After having enough of walking, we went to one of our regular coffee shop for breakfast.
One of the helpers gave me the above fruit. It was green when I received it but turnd yellow after 2 days. I was told that this is "mo far kor" in Cantonese, meaning "non-flowering fruit. From the internet, this fruit is from the Calabash tree and is also known as a "miracle fruit" or the Giant Monk Fruit. I was told to boil this fruit with monk fruit and honey dates as a remedy for respiratory problem such as asthma or cough.
The outer shell of the fruit is very hard and I had to crack it open with a hammer. The yellowish pulp is soft and slightly sticky. The pulp will be white if the outer shell is green. The pulp will turn black during cooking.
The seeds are covered with a sticky sac.
This is a dried monk fruit or "loh han kuo" in Cantaonese. You can buy this from any Chinese medicinal shop.
Crack open the fruit with a metal spoon.
Break up the fruit into smaller pieces.
This is the remedy drink after boiling the "mo far kor" and "loh han kuo" for about 3 hours. The drink tastes a bit sweet on its own even though I didn't use any honey dates.

That evening, we were meeting up with our friends for dinner at Restoran Wing Hoong Lapan at #16, Jalan Centrepoint 1, Off Jalan Tokong.
Hubby ordered his favourite "keong choon ngau", which is beef with ginger and spring onion with rice.
I ordered pork and salted egg porridge while our friends ordered beef porridge which I didn't take any snapshot.
We also ordered a small plate of "keong choon ngau" with rice vermicelli (beehoon) for sharing because our friends wanted to try this. Our friends enjoyed the tender beef slices.
Coincidentally, we passed by this Calabash tree on one of my morning walk.
There were some giant "miracle" fruits hanging from the branches. It was after a morning shower and the raindrops can be seen on the fruit.

O God, your ways are holy.
Where is there any other as mighty as you?
You are the God of miracles and wondrs!
You still demonstrate your awesome power.

Noodles For Breakfast And Claypot Chicken Rice For Dinner

We went out for morning walk as usual.

Morning sky at 7:45am.
Returned home, swept the porch area and watered the plants. Then we drove out to pick up our friends for breakfast at Bercham Great Wall Kopitiam.
Our friend's latte and toast (not in the picture).
The rest of us ordered Chinese tea and warm water.
Curry noodle for me.
Pork noodle with salted vegetable and tofu for a friend.
Hong Kong chee cheong fun with bbq pork filling for hubby.
Purple wishbone flowers from my garden.
For dinner, hubby and I went to WK Claypot House at 101, Lengkok Rishah 3, Taman Silibin Ria, Ipoh.
Claypot chicken rice with Chinese sausage and salted fish.
So far, this is the best claypot chicken rice we have tasted.
Appetizing sweet, sour and spicy mustard green.
For greater omph, I like to eat the claypot chicken rice with this green bird's eye chilies in soy sauce.
Red sugar cane drink.
I took this snapshot while waiting for the traffic light to turn green.
What attracted me is the design above the top floor windows.
This old building has been given a new coat of paint.
This lot is now occupied by a boutique.

As for me, God forbid that I should boast about anything
except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Because of that cross, my interest in all the attractive things
of the world was killed long ago,
and the world's interest in me is also long dead.

Noodle & Roast Meat At Restoran Pin Sim Sing Kee, Menglembu

We have plenty of food varieties around us but sometimes, we just don't know what to eat. I suppose the problem is because there are too many to choose from. I think it makes us picky. After considering a few suggestions, we finally settled for Restoran Pin Sim Sing Kee in Menglembu. We haven't been there for a long time.

Their signature "sum si meen" noodle (2 portions).
Roast duck.
Roast pork and bbq pork.
And a small portion of pickled vegetable (acar).
Dipping sauce for duck (left) and chili sauce.
The above food is for 4 people.
Evening sky at 6:25pm.
It has been raining for the past few days.
~~~~~
We were passing by Batu Gajah town on our way home one late morning and I happened to see some nice murals. We were with 2 other friends and I asked hubby to find a place to park so that we could get down to take some snapshots. This is just one of the murals and I will show more in weeks to come.
Tualang Tin Dredge Mural in Batu Gajah.
Batu Gajah (Stone Elephant) was once known for its tin mining activities.
Linking to Monday Mural.
Lord, you see what they are doing. You have noted each evil act.
You know what trouble and grief they have caused.
Now punish them. O Lord, the poor man trusts himself to you;
you are known as the helper of the helpless.
Birthday Lunch At August Healing, Ipoh
We woke up to a cloudy morning.
Sunrise at 7:05am.
This was a Monday and most eateries are closed on Mondays. Our friend finally found one that was open and we made our way to August Healing at No. 18A, Jalan Theatre, Ipoh.
We need to go up these steps.
Our friend ordered the above quiche and
something that looks like a scone with dried herbs and served with cream.
Someone ordered latte.
I ordered Earl Grey tea (refillable) and
this tiramisu cake.
The birthday boy ordered the above with chocolate topping and
the house's special bagel with filling.
It was a treat by his aunt for the young man's belated birthday celebration.
~~~~~
Our one dish home cookd dinner.
I used the whole bearded chicken and a bottle of raisin wine to cook this "Drunken Chicken Soup". Other ingredients used: wood fungus, red dates, goji berries, and ginger. With this soup, we had mee sua chicken wine soup. This portion was enough for 2 dinners.
One of our morning walk, we came across this dog sitting by the roadside.
He was sitting so upright and all the focus on what was ahead of him. I guess it might be waiting for its owner who had gone across the road to the recreational park.
Such a smart looking dog on guard, staying so focus.

For the Lord grants wisdom!
His every word is a treasure of knowledge and understanding.
He grants good sense to the godly - his saints.
He is their shield, protecting them and guarding their pathway.
He shows how to distinguish right from wrong,
how to find the right decision every time.

We passed by this plant on our morning walk.
Beautiful Oleander or Nerium flowers. Love the soft pink colour of this flowers. This plant is extremely poisonous and care should be taken when handling any part of the plant.

Don't repay evil for evil.
Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.
