Sweet Sour Pork Rib & Poached Chinese Pomfret

Even though we woke up a bit late, we still got ready for morning walk.

Sunrise at 7:30am.
~~~~~
Lunch for 2 people.
Sweet sour pork rib.
2nd half portion of yam bean.
Instead of rice, we had thin yee mee noodle.
Pink Mexican petunias.
~~~~~
Dinner for 2 people.
Poached Chinese pomfrets.
The day before, I steamed the 2 pomfrets and hubby complained of the fishy smell. This time, I poached the pomfrets just like how I poached the chicken. All the fishy smell went into the water and this time, there was no complain from hubby. He did request for extra spring onions and ginger strips. Lol! so much garnishing until the pomfrets couldn't be seen.
Leftover sweet sour pork ribs from lunch.
Leftover yam bean from lunch.
For dinner, we had steamed brown rice.
For the time being, I wouldn't need to buy any meat.

So I am not writing to you as to those who need to know the truth,
but I warn you as those who can discern the difference
between true and false.

Koi Or Japanese Carps

This was one week before CNY 2023.

Morning sky at 7:05am.
Setting out on our morning walk.
7:15am.
~~~~~
We drove out to Ipoh old town for breakfast at Kedai Kopi Ah Chow.
I ordered noodle in clear soup at RM6.50
I don't know if the price has been increased.
There was a prawn, few pieces of roast pork and chicken meat.
Hubby ordered dry curry noodle at RM6.50 from the same stall.
~~~~~
We were with friends at this place and there is a fish pond with lots of beautiful Japanese carps swimming in it.
The sky reflected in the water.
The water is very clear.

Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated
by a fisherman - he casts a net into the water and
gathers in fish of every kind, valuable and worthless.
When the net is full, he drags it up onto the beach and
sits down and sorts out the edible ones onto crates
and throws the other away.

Harvesting Home Grown Veggie For Dinner

After about a week plus without rain, it has started to rain again. This time, it usually rains in the afternoon or evening.

Sunrise at 7:25am.
Hubby's vertical garden.
Bok choy growing in hubby's vertical garden.
Some were ready for harvest.
These were harvested for dinner.
Minced meat with egg patties, ginger slices and bok choy in soup.
Sitiawan mee sua or wheat noodle in soup for dinner.
Mee Sua will always reminds me of my childhood years in Sitiawan.

For the reverence and fear of God are basic to all wisdom.
Knowing God results in every other kind of understanding.
"I, Wisdom, will make the hours of your day more profitable and
the years of your life more fruitful."
Wisdom is its own reward, and if you scorn her,
you hurt only yourself.

A Surprise Gift From An Unknown Person

Glad that we could go for our walking exercise on this particular morning. We have been skipping morning walk because it has been raining or drizzling most mornings.

I am sharing this morning sky from June, 2022.
These days, most of the morning sky are gloomy.
Garlic vine flowers by the roadside on our morning walk.
~~~~~
We had breakfast at Restoran Double Three, Menglembu new township.
Hubby ordered dry curry noodle with 2 fried dumplings and...
3 pieces of fried fish cakes in clear soup.
I ordered toast with butter and kaya.
Breakfast for 2 people.
~~~~~
Later in the morning, I received a call from an unlisted caller. It was from a florist making a delivery and was waiting outside our house. Hubby went out to attend to the person.
A few minutes later, hubby came into the house with the above. We checked the card and instead of a name, it was written as "Guess ???". Who could it be? It took a while for hubby to guess. The sender is a friend who has settled down overseas and wanted to spring a surprise on us. Thank you, friend for your lovely gift.
~~~~~
We had a lunch appointment with a friend who was back from Kuala Lumpur for a 2 weeks holidays. We went to a food court near her house.
I ordered a pot of briyani rice to share with hubby.
~~~~~
After a heavy lunch, we only wanted something light for dinner.
Hubby and I shared this big plate of blanched beansprouts with scrambled eggs, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.

Linking to Skywatch Friday.

And I pray that as you share your faith with others
it will grip their lives too,
as they see the wealth of good things in you
that come from Christ Jesus.

Dinner At Restoran Mun Ji On a Rainy Evening

We set out for morning walk at about 7:05am.

Lovely sunrise 7:10am
7:20am.
The sun partially blocked by dark cloud - 8am.
8:10am.
Japanese cucumber from my garden.
~~~~~
Dinner at Restoran Mun Ji, Menglembu. Halfway through dinner, there was a heavy downpour. We ordered the following dishes.
Fish curry with assorted vegetables and tofu puffs (small size) - RM35. We never fail to order this dish. This is the only place I will always take-away or "tapau" the remaining curry back home.
This is also another dish that we must order - Green amaranth with 3 types of eggs (salted egg, century egg & normal chicken egg) - RM15
For a change, we ordered salted fish pork belly in clear pot - RM16. This is a very appetizing dish and hubby had 2nd helping of rice. Total cost of dinner for 4 people - RM74.20
It was still drizzling when we got into the car. Currently, this place only opens for dinner. We usually go early to avoid the peak dinner crowd.
~~~~~
The next day home cooked dinner.
With the remaining curry that I took away, I added in some chicken breast slices, carrot, and home grown tomatoes.
Blanched broccoli.
For hubby, I cooked instant noodle without adding the flavouring.
To clear the last 3 remaining pieces of bread from the fridge, I toasted the bread. Simple and enjoyable dinner on a cool, rainy evening.
~~~~~
A friend who visited the Taiping zoo, sent me some photos.
Crocodiles.
I will avoid going near this place if I were in the zoo.
Iniquity is atoned for by mercy and truth;
evil is avoided by reverence for God.
When a man is trying to please God,
God makes even his worst enemies to be at peace with him.
Lunch At Tan Cha Kee Cafe, Ipoh
A friend shared this eatery with me on Whatsapp and later another friend had lunch at the same eatery and shared photos of the food they ate with me. I was keen to try so we went for lunch 2 Mondays ago. The name of the eatery is Tan Cha Kee at 104C, Jalan Chung Ah Ming, Taman Hoover, Ipoh.
There is no big signboard of the eatery on the outside. I used Waze app to show me the exact location of this eatery. You will need to go up the stairs on the right side.
We were seated and received the menus. At that time there were other customers having their lunch, so I didn't take any photos of the interior.
This was brought to our table. The hot water in the enamel mug is for sterilizing, to clean tableware.
I ordered plain drinking water @ RM0.80 and it came in the beige colour enamel mug.
If I am not mistaken, hubby ordered honey lime water @ RM4.50 and it was served in the blue enamel mug. Using enamel mugs and plates seems to be the current trend.
Hubby ordered herbal chicken rice at RM14.90. There is a steamed whole chicken leg (free range chicken), rice, 1 hard boiled egg, cucumber slices and some blended ginger. The herbal chicken is flavourful. You can even order a whole herbal chicken for take away if you are interested.
I ordered chicken rendang with ramen noodle @ RM14.90.
There is ramen noodle, whole chicken leg rendang, 1 fried egg, fried peanuts, cucumber slices and some shredded pickles. Since hubby don't eat hard boiled egg, I took the hard boiled egg and gave me the fried egg. Overall, it was a satisfying and filling lunch.
After the other customers left, I started to take some snapshots of the interior.
When my friend came with his family, they were given a room.
The decoration makes the place looks like an old fashioned tea house in the old days.
Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?
Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?
Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
The LORD knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.
