Enjoying A Dinner Treat At Restoran Mandarin Kitchen, Ipoh.

We received a call from our friend to book us for a dinner date. At the appointed day and time, we went to pick up our friend and her husband from their house. We reached the restaurant just before 7 pm and all the tables on the ground floor were occupied except for one table. We were just in time or else we will have to go up to the 1st floor. It was a Sunday evening and the crowd is expected.
We started with Dong Po Pork Belly dish. It was not the usual version of the melt in the mouth Dongpo Pork Belly bathed in thick gravy. This was a drier version.
Crispy Deep Fried Butter Milk Squid.
Steamed River Fish (pak soh koon) with blended ginger.
Blanched greens with cuttlefish strips.
Thank you, dear friends for a food-filling dinner.

Wall Paintings & Antique Door At Ho Yan Hor Museum, Ipoh.

Today's posting will be the last of the series on Ho Yan Hor museum. After having finished the 1st floor tour (click here to read), we came down by another steep stairway down to the front hall. The stairway was very steep that I have to hold on tight to the railing and took one step at a time all the way down.
Wall painting of customers enjoying the herbal tea.
Take a look at the wall painting and pay attention to the black table and chair.

Here is a close up of the table and chair. Did you notice something about the table and chair. They have only 2 front legs each.

Symptoms of heatiness:
a) Sleep difficulty, waking up too early, feeling tired.
b) Feverish & irritable - mouth ulcers, sore throat, constipation.
c) Cold & Flu - fever, runny nose, headache.
Only gift packs are being sold here.

We have come to the end of our visit to Ho Yan Hor museum.

We know how happy they are now because they stayed true
to him then, even though they suffered greatly for it.
Job is an example of a man who continued to trust
the Lord in sorrow; from his experiences we can see
how the Lord's plan finally ended in good,
for he is full of tenderness and mercy.

Growing Yellow Hibiscus In My Garden.

One fine day, my sister-in-law asked me through Whatsapp whether I am interested to grow a hibiscus plant. She told me that the flower is very pretty and her friend is willing to propagate a plant for me. And on her next trip to Ipoh, she brought back a tiny plant of about 4 inches tall in a small container.
I re-potted the plant into a bigger pot and it started to grow. This hibiscus has round leaves.
When the plant grew to about 1 foot tall, it started to bloom.
This is the yellow flower of my new hibiscus plant.
The flower is bright, striking yellow with a red center and a shorter style.
These photo was taken in the early morning.
Flower from the same hibiscus plant. This was taken under the midday sun.
After feeding it with fertilizer, it has grown more healthy with glossy leaves.
Hibiscus flower before it was fully opened.
Something strange happened to this flower. It didn't open up like the others. It remained like this until it wilted and dropped to the ground. This is a very interesting hibiscus plant. Thank you to my sister-in-law and her friend for this hibiscus plant.

But the spiritual man has insight into everything,
and that bothers and baffles the man of the world,
who can't understand him at all. How could he?
For certainly he has never been one to know the Lord's thoughts,
or to discuss them with him, or to move the hands of God by prayer.
But, strange as it seems, we Christians actually do have within us
a portion of the very thoughts and mind of Christ.

Pork Soup Noodles For Breakfast And CCF & Satay For Supper.

One morning we woke up extra early and we were at the recreation park early for our morning walk. I looked across the lake and saw this lovely view and I cannot help but take a few snapshots of the sunset sunrise.
The morning light was just beginning to light up the sky.
The light pierced through, dispersed the darkness and displayed a show of colours.
Had a breakfast appointment with a friend. We ate at Kedai Mi Cong Yin, Lebuh Taman Ipoh, Taman Ipoh Selatan.
2 bowls of grated water chestnuts & corn sweet drink (tong sui).
Two pieces of deep friend dumplings (sui kau in Cantonese).
2 bowls of pork soup noodles. I ordered "mee sua".
These were our breakfast for 2 people.
We shared an encouraging fellowship and it was time for me to drive home.

Hubby and I had an early dinner and by 9.30 pm we were feeling hungry. So we drove to Jalan Tun Abdul Razak (formerly Maxwell Road) in search of something to eat.
This is our favourite Satay stall.
10 sticks of Chicken Satay (BBQ chicken) with spicy peanut sauce.
Saw a Chee Cheong Fun stall selling steamed flat noodles and ordered a plate to try.
These were our supper for 2 people. We seldom take supper, it is only a once in a while affair.

Have a blessed Sunday!

And I gave them the Sabbath - a day of rest every seventh day -
as a symbol between them and me, to remind them that it is I,
the Lord, who sanctifies them - that they are truly my people.

Big, yet so gentle.
And friendly too.
I needed a rest, master.
Wait! let me choose my shampoo first.
Come, give me a hug.
Twin babies.
Doing a dog walk on the red carpet!

Please take me home with you.
Why are those humans crowding over there?
Taking a snapshot of a hairless cat.
A Sphynx Cat.
It has big, round eyes.
Very unusual and so different from the other cats.
I am more used to this type of cats.
