Dinner At Gopeng Antique Kopitiam, Gopeng.

Yesterday evening, hubby and I took a short drive to Gopeng to visit an old family friend. It has been about 2 months since we last visited her. We were discussing about where to go for dinner and our friend suggested a new place to us. We have been to this place before and I have even taken photographs and have blogged about it here. At that time, there was no activity and we didn't know what it will turn out to be. It actually turned out to be - Gopeng Antique Kopitiam!
Here we were at Gopeng Antique Kopitiam. We came by the Jalan Pasar way.
Business Hours: 10.30 am to 2.00 pm, 5 pm to 10.30 pm
Western cuisine hours: 5.30 pm to 11.00 pm.

It was 6.30 pm. We chose to sit under the open sky.
This place has 2 separate kitchens. The little window looks into the Western Kitchen.
And this is the Chinese cuisine/local fare kitchen.
Servers waiting at the kitchen window.

There are many sitting areas for the customers to choose.
Since we do not know what is good, we request for their recommendation.
The pleasant young man suggested this Yue Guang Ho (Moon Light Koay Teow). Must quickly mix the egg together with the noodle when it is still hot. MYR 6 (approx. 1.49 USD).
He also suggested Sambal Fried Lao Shu Fen.
MYR 6.50 (approx. 1.61 USD).
Both the noodles were recommended and they were good!
We saw this and we wanted to try this Mixed Meat Platter.
MYR 24.80 (approx. 6.14 USD). (L to R) Beef, chicken & mutton.
The mutton was a bit overcooked - could be an isolated case.
This was another recommended special.
MYR 8.00 (approx. 1.98 USD)
Stewed duck with ginger and spring onion.
This dish comes with white rice. The duck was tender and flavourful.
We also ordered drinks: 1 plain water MYR 0.50 (approx. 0.12 USD)
1 cucumber plum MYR 3.80, 1 apple juice MYR 3.80 (approx. 0.94 USD)
Total cost of dinner MYR 53.40 (approx. 13.23 USD).
After our food orders were taken, I wasted no time and went about to snap photos of the place. There is another entrance on the other end of Jalan Pasar between Persatuan Wooi Ling and Chee Wan Restaurant.
Coming in from the other entrance, we get to see some wall paintings.
Pathway into the kopitiam/cafe.
Wall painting.
Can you see the elastic shooter on his head?
Old tree trunk / driftwood.
More sitting area for customers. It is quieter here.
Customers can also choose to sit here.
Designed to look like a typical village home.
Another sitting area under open sky.
I will be sharing more snapshots from this kopitiam in my next post.
Thank God, it only started to drizzle just as we finished our dinner because we were sitting under open sky.  Thank you and we will definitely come again for more from their menu.
Time to send our friend home and then back to Ipoh for hubby and I.

When Jesus had finished giving these illustrations,

he returned to his hometown, Nazareth in Galilee,

and taught there in the synagogue and

astonished everyone with his wisdom and his miracles.
