Water Droplets On My Plants.

As I was looking through some photos to post for today, I found these photos with water droplets taken in my garden after the rain. As we are having hot and humid weather now, I would love to see these water droplets on my plants again. And I am sure my plants would welcome them too. Looking at these photos helps me forget the warm air around me. I hope they will also have the same effect on you too.

Cool Dresses For Hot And Humid Weather

The weather here has switched from cool to hot and humid. Every morning after having watered the plants in my garden, I will take a bath. If I am not going out, I will put on my light and loose housecoat. But if I need to run some errands or meet up with friends, I will have to put on some decent clothing that are made of light material and comfortable for this hot and sweltering weather.

All the lighter and more airy clothing are now brought forward to the front of the wardrobe for my daily wear. I tend to sweat a lot and I prefer to wear sleeveless or short sleeved tops with pants or skirts when I go out. It has been some time since I bought any new tops and those in my wardrobe do look a bit worn out through regular wear. So it is about time to look for some nice and cool women's tops as we are expecting this hot and humid weather to stay for quite awhile.
With the day temperature of 32 - 34 deg C, I rather stay indoors. As far as possible, I will avoid going out in the hot afternoons. I don't know about others, but I feel extra lazy in this kind of weather. The slightest activity makes me sweaty and sticky. So the most convenient way is online shopping, sitting in front of my computer to visit the various dresses websites without having to go out under the hot sun. Among the few dresses websites I have visited, I found that the dresses displayed on FashionMia are more to my taste.
Looking through the wide range of evening dresses, I found the short evening dresses very attractive and more suitable for this hot weather. The light weight materials will be very comfortable to wear. Besides women's tops and evening dresses, you can find pants and skirts to pair with the tops. In this hot weather, many would love to soak in the swimming pool and if you are looking for a beachwear or bikini, there are many designs to choose from. You can either take advantage of the flash sale or have your pick from the new arrivals.

A Cute Puppy And A Love Knot At The Recreational Park.

As usual, we started our day with our morning walk at the recreational park. I usually have my smartphone with me. just in case I might need the camera if I find something interesting.
I started off with this sunrise shot while on our walk.
Then I saw this adult dog with a puppy beside the pond.
The adult dog was still rolling on the grass while the puppy moved out of sight.
Before I knew it, the puppy was right in front of me!
I think it wanted to pose as my model.
It seemed to be enjoying itself. "Bye, bye puppy. Hope to see you again."
This is the first time I noticed these heart shaped knots or love knots in this tree.

Mixed Fruit Cocktail For Lunch & Simple Dinner For A Hot Day.

The weather has been hot (about 32 deg. C) and humid for almost a week now. For the past few months we have been getting heavy downpour, storm and uprooted trees. Now we hardly get any rain, maybe some slight drizzle that can hardly wet the ground. By midday, most of my plants go limp under the scorching sun. We have to sleep with the air conditioner on the whole night.
Early morning sky at about 6.36 am. On our way out for the morning walk.
Sunrise at 6.40 am at the recreational park.

We didn't feel like taking solid food for lunch. So we drove to Menglembu for the cold dessert. We ordered these mixed fruit cocktail.with ice shaving.

We ordered the following dishes for dinner at the hawker centre.
Chicken with wood fungus
Assam curry fish with okra and eggplant.
And blanched veggie with oyster sauce.
We ordered 2 small portion of white rice to eat with these dishes.

and nothing to compare with your works.

All the nations you made are on their way,

ready to give honor to you, O Lord.

Ready to put your beauty on display, parading your greatness.

And the great things you do - God, you're the one,

there's no one but you!

Noodle For Breakfast & Home Cooked Dinner.

Good morning, friends! For the past few days there was no rain and the weather is so, so hot! Even sitting under the full swinging fan, I needed a handkerchief to wipe my sweat.
I miss the cool mornings and here are 2 photos taken in 2016.
You can see the mountain tops above the low clouds.
What's For Breakfast
After our morning walk, hubby drove to Menglembu new township, wanting to eat Ban Mee at Restoran Hoo Wan, at Lintasan Kledang Timur 6, Taman Bandar Baru, Ipoh. We haven't been to this shop for a long time. The last time we were here was in September 2016,
Both hubby and I wanted to eat the same thing. We both ordered the dry and spicy version Ban Mee. It had minced pork cooked with strips of wood fungus, crispy fried beancurd and crispy fried anchovies. It also had an egg with a runny yolk.
Then we ordered 2 pieces of sui kow or dumplings. The dumplings were not as thick nor as big as before.
What's for Dinner
We had a home cooked dinner. I found a quarter of a chicken and I had some spiky bitter gourds in my fridge. So there is meat and green.
I used the chicken and bitter gourd to cook 1 dish with garlic, ginger slices, bird's eye chilies and preserved salted black beans. We ate rice with this single dish for dinner.

Growing Cotton Rosemallow (Hibiscus Mutabilis) In My Garden.

Previously, I did a post on this flower/plant and at that time, I didn't know its name. The friend who gave me the baby plant called it Rose of Sharon and I named it Rose of Sharon in that post. If you are interested, you can click here to read about it. The plant was removed from my garden when it was badly infested with mealy bugs.
In December 2016, we visited our friends again and we came home with 2 stem cuttings from their garden.
Brought the cuttings back and planted them in a small plastic pot.

I found out later that this is actually Hibiscus Mutabilis and some of the common names are the Confederate Rose, Dixie Rosemallow and Cotton Rosemallow.  I like the name Cotton Rosemallow, so I will refer to it as Cotton Rosemallow in this post.
The leaves and flowers are claimed to have medicinal benefits and are used for the treating of swellings and skin infections. Some even used it to facilitate delivery during labour.
Cotton Rosemallow plant is very easy to propagate from stem cuttings and is a fast growing plant. It can grow quite tall and needs constant trimming to keep within the desired height.
My pot of Cotton Rosemallow gets a few hours of sun daily. It is grown in a pot with normal garden soil with good drainage.
Flower buds started to appear after 3 - 4 months.
The stalks of the flower buds increased in length to raise the flowers above the leaves.
Opening of the flower bud. Taken on a sunny morning.
A blooming flower bud taken after a heavy downpour. You can see the wet leaves.
A fully opened flower. It first appeared white in the morning.
The whole flower is white with yellow centre.
A full bloomed flower measures about 5 to 6 inches in diameter.
A close up view of the yellow stigma and yellow stamens.
My Cotton Rosemallow plant is now about 5 feet tall. The above  photo was taken in the afternoon after the rain stopped.
When the flower opens in the morning, it is white.
By midday, it slowly changes from white to light pink.
The light pink then turns to deep pink. This photo was taken at about 2.30 pm. By late evening, it will turned to dark pink.
This plant is easily prone to mealy bugs infection. Can you see the white powdery bugs on my plant? I quickly mixed the fermented enzyme liquid with a generous amount of  curry powder. I then sprayed the mixture on the bugs and infected parts. After that most of the white powdery bugs were gone. I sprayed again and hopefully the bugs will stay away from my plants.
One morning, I was blessed with 2 flowers blooming at the same time.
Top left photo - 2 white flowers in the early morning at 7.45 am.
Top right photo - by 11.45 am, there were traces of  light pink.
Bottom left photo - by 1.35 pm, the flowers have turned to a lovely pink.
Bottom right photo - by 2.30 pm, the flowers in deeper pink.
