1st Dim Sum Breakfast In 2023

Tuesday 31st January was the 10th day of CNY 2023. Hubby and I had already started out on our morning walk when we received a call from a friend at about 6:55am. She wanted to have breakfast with us and will be picking us up from our house in an hour's time. We finished our morning walk and went home for wait.

Visitors can sit here for their photos to be taken.
We were seated in front of this wall.
From the left, clockwise.
2 plates of fried prawn dumplings, 2 trays of steamed prawn dumplings, yam puffs and siew mai in the centre.
Steamed chicken glutinous rice (left) and fried radish cake (right).
Satisfying and filling breakfast for 4 people.

Wisdom is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.
She offers you long life in her right hand,
and riches and honor in her left.
She will guide you down delightful paths;
all her ways are satisfying.
Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
happy are those who hold her tightly.

Breakfast At Classic Dim Sum Cafe, Ipoh

Someone recommended to our friends this Classic Dim Sum Cafe and our friends suggested that we should go and also take advantage of the 30% discount which is only available until Monday which is today. We were to pick them up at 8:30am.

But first, we went for morning walk at 6:38am.
There was a full moon over us and shining so brightly.
The moon was still visible at 7:05am.
Sunrise at 7:11am.
Sunrise at 7:22am.
The moon is still visible at 7:22am when we returned from our morning wall. The was still enough time for us to water our plants before driving out to our friends' house.
This place serves pork-free dim sum, noodles, rice and etc.
We ordered Chinese tea (Pu Erh) @ RM4 per head.
Steamed glutinous rice with chicken and mushroom (loh mai kai).
Fried radish cake with beansprouts and egg.
Fried Chinese burgers.
Fried noodle (shang mee) in soup.
Chicken porridge.
Fried yam puffs.
Total bill for 4 people came to RM52.20.
After 30% deduction, we only need to pay RM36.54
It was only after we have finished our breakfast and exited from the building, that we noticed that they have opened up the garden terrace for their customers. Of course, this place is without air-con.

We were passing by Batu Gajah town one weekend in June.
We stopped the car to snap some mural photos.
The murals are facing a big space used for parking.
I start with this mural for today.
I will share the rest of the murals on the following Mondays.

trusting God just as we did when we first became Christians,
we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

Curry Noodle, Nyonya Kuih, Dim Sum & Sweet Drink

Time really flies even during pandemic. There is no chance to feel bored as I have activities such as gardening, blogging, cooking, housework, and etc. to keep me busy.

Morning sky at 7am.
Sunrise and hills.
Clouds reflecting the sunlight 7:08am.

Sunday breakfast.
After morning walk, we went out to town to buy breakfast.
We bought "Ma Jie" curry noodles from Restoran Yee Lock.
Dry curry version (left) for hubby and soup version (right) for me.
I also bought the above Nyonya kuih.
Neighbour boiled sweet drink with monk fruit (luo han guo), dried longan and white fungus and gave us some.
My neighbour bought fish balls (above) and glutinous rice in lotus leaf (below) for us. So, we ate Nyonya kuih, fish balls and tong sui for lunch.
We kept the above glutinous rice in lotus leaf for dinner.
Steam to heat up and good to eat.

Dim Sum Breakfast & Chicken Varuval For Dinner

Every morning, as we start out on our morning walk, one of us will ask the other what we would like to eat for breakfast. For this particular morning, hubby wanted to eat steamed big bun or "tai pau".
So, after our morning walk, we walked over to the dim sum restaurant near our house to buy "tai pau" and a few more items.
Steamed big bun or "tai pau" cut into halves for sharing.
I will take the half with the hard boiled egg.
I also bought fried prawn dumplings and a baked bbq bun.
I like varieties, so I bought a "nam yee pau" or steamed bun with fermented red bean curd pork belly filling.
Home grown okras or ladies fingers from my garden for dinner.
First time trying to cook chicken varuval (my own version) with whatever spices I have available. It taste good with white rice or Indian bread (capati).
Blanched beansprout, home grown Chinese chives and okra from my garden.
Dinner for 2 people on a cool evening.

A rainbow on the reverse side at 7:18pm.
One more shot before the rainbow faded away.
I spotted these 2 garden snails on the roadside on one of our morning walk.

Have two goals:
wisdom - that is, knowing and doing right - and common sense.
Don't let them slip away, for they fill you with living energy
and bring you honor and respect.
They keep you safe from defeat and disaster
and from stumbling off the trail.
With them on guard you can sleep without fear;
you need not be afraid of disaster or the plots of wicked men,
for the Lord is with you; he protects you.

Dim Sum Breakfast & Chempedak Fruit

This was a Saturday morning with cloudy sky.

Sunrise blocked by clouds 7:40am
7:45am
After morning walk, we walked over to the Dim Sum Restaurant to buy breakfast.
Yam puff (top) and century egg + pickled ginger roll.
2 fish balls and 2 steamed buns (sang yuk pau).
~~~~~
In the afternoon, hubby came to know of an elderly friend who was stuck at home. She is staying alone with her grandson and they don't have transport to go out to buy foodstuffs.
The nearby shops where she used to get her foodstuffs have covid cases and she is afraid to go out.
So, off we went to get some foodstuffs for her.
Half way, we stopped at a durian stall to get some durians for her because she loves durians.
~~~~~
(The image below is from the internet and is for illustration purpose only)
I forgot to snap photos of the durians and chempedak.
The durians were for the elderly friend and this chempedak was for us.
These were the fruits from inside the chempedak.
The flesh was thick and sweet.
This was our home cooked dinner for 2 people.
I cooked steamed minced pork with egg, fried 2 pieces of fish and blanched one green vegetable.
My Chinese chives are flowering again.

He is like a father to us,
tender and sympathetic to those who reverence him.
For he knows we are but dust and that our days are few and brief,
like grass, like flowers, blown by the wind and gone forever.
(Psalm 103:13-16, The Living Bible-TLB)
