Wat Tan Hor, Assam Laksa & Fried Fish With Nyonya Assam Paste

The day started with a nice sunrise.

Finished our morning walk early at about 7:30am.
Drove out to Yummy Food Garden in Menglembu Industrial area for breakfast.
Hubby ordered flat rice noodle with egg gravy (wat tan hor).
I ordered assam laksa. I have no problem eating assam laksa for breakfast.
Love the generous amount of fish meat in the laksa.
When I can't have the Penang assam laksa, this one will do for me.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Fried grouper fish meat and topped with Nyonya assam paste.
Beansprout sauteed with home grown Chinese chives, chopped garlic and salt.
2 salted eggs.
We ate brown rice porridge with the above dishes.
Simple, satisfying and filling.
Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble!
Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day.
And the Lord will guide you continually,
and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too;
and you will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
(Isaiah 58:10-11, The Living Bible-TLB)
  3. I miss wat tan hor. I think they use chicken usually so I can eat, not red meat but the problem is it is Cantonese and we do not have it at a lot of places here and even if they do, they may not be very nice.
    1. They usually use pork but some places do use chicken meat. Not all places serve tasty wat tan hor.
    The salted eggs (homemade I presume) really elevates your dinner, yums.
