Noodle & Roast Meat At Restoran Pin Sim Sing Kee, Menglembu

We have plenty of food varieties around us but sometimes, we just don't know what to eat. I suppose the problem is because there are too many to choose from. I think it makes us picky. After considering a few suggestions, we finally settled for Restoran Pin Sim Sing Kee in Menglembu. We haven't been there for a long time.

Their signature "sum si meen" noodle (2 portions).
Roast duck.
Roast pork and bbq pork.
And a small portion of pickled vegetable (acar).
Dipping sauce for duck (left) and chili sauce.
The above food is for 4 people.
Evening sky at 6:25pm.
It has been raining for the past few days.

We were passing by Batu Gajah town on our way home one late morning and I happened to see some nice murals. We were with 2 other friends and I asked hubby to find a place to park so that we could get down to take some snapshots. This is just one of the murals and I will show more in weeks to come.

Batu Gajah (Stone Elephant) was once known for its tin mining activities.

Lord, you see what they are doing. You have noted each evil act.
You know what trouble and grief they have caused.
Now punish them. O Lord, the poor man trusts himself to you;
you are known as the helper of the helpless.

Stay Home, Stay Safe, Eat & Grow Fat!

Yesterday, 21st day MCO with 7 more days to go. Will the MCO be lifted after the 7 days or will it be extended again? Most likely, we will have to stay home for another 2 weeks till end of April. May God bless the decision makers with wisdom to decide. Meanwhile, let us continue to play our part by doing whatever is necessary to protect ourselves and others from the virus. Stay home, stay safe, eat and grow fat.

Lunch Treat At Restoran Kim Wah, Ipoh.

One day earlier, a friend texted to invite my hubby and I for lunch the next day. She invited us to celebrate with her as she has been blessed in many ways. We were to meet her and another friend at Restoran Kim Wah at Taman Mas at the appointed time the next day.
Vegetarian dish - assorted vegetables and mushrooms.
Grouper fish slices stir fried with young ginger & spring onions.
Steamed chicken with cloud ears.
Roast duck and BBQ pork.
Stewed pig's leg in clay pot.
Silky Tofu Fa (soya bean curd) dessert on the house.
We couldn't finish the above dishes. The chicken, roast duck and bbq pork and the stewed pork have to be packed to be taken home.
Thank you, my dear friend for a very hearty lunch!

Lunch With Friends At Wan Li Xiang Roasters, Ipoh.

I was at a friend's house and just before I wanted to leave, my friend suggested going for lunch because she wanted to introduce a new place to me. As I am always game to try a new place, I agreed and together with her hubby, we drove to this new place with her directing the way. My friend did the ordering because they are regular customers.
Roast pork and char siew (sweet bbq pork)
The skin of the roast pork was very crunchy.
Crispy deep fried abalone mushrooms and baby French beans with salted egg yolk. I love this dish!
Black vinegar pig's trotter in clay pot - very appetizing dish.
Stir fried sweet potato leaves in prawn sauce.
Overall, it was a delicious lunch but we couldn't finish the food and ended up taking home most of the food. Total cost of lunch including rice and drink for 3 people = MYR 66.40

Lunch With Golden Girls At Restoran Lan heong Yuen.

We read about this restaurant written in an article and we were curious to try the food. This restaurant serves 3 types of meat i.e. roasted duck, chicken, pork, and bbq pork. You can order the meat to eat with rice or noodle. As usual, we wanted to try a bit of everything.
We ordered a mixed plate of bbq pork, roast pork, chicken & duck for 4 people. These were served with 2 types of dipping sauce.
Plain noodle with a bit of greens to go with the meat.
The noodle tastes good.
Nice minced pork wontons.
We ordered 4 baked "Suet San" pork buns (snow mountain buns).
These are special pork buns, different from the usual pork buns.
We also ordered 4 Baked Australian Cheese Tarts.
We have mixed reviews about these tarts. Some of us do not like the soft creamy texture of the filling. For me, I don't mind the creamy texture.
You take a bite and the creamy cheese filling flows out.
4 types of meat on the wall.
Snow mountain pork buns and cheese tarts.
Types of noodles on the wall.
They also served the rice and noodles in different versions.
For noodles, they have the dry and soup versions.

The following photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
 Fido, my hairdresser's pet dog.
He has moods. Sometimes he will greet me with barks.
At other times, he can be very friendly.
One morning, we were following behind this car and this cheeky kitty was sticking its tongue at us. The owner of the car painted the wiper to look like the cat's tail. It would be fun to see the kitty moving its tail.
A friend passed us some peacock fishes. These are mostly female fishes and we have never seen such big peacock fishes. These are well fed fishes.

But for you who revere my name,
the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays.
And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
