Birthday Lunch At August Healing, Ipoh

We woke up to a cloudy morning.

Sunrise at 7:05am.
This was a Monday and most eateries are closed on Mondays. Our friend finally found one that was open and we made our way to August Healing at No. 18A, Jalan Theatre, Ipoh.
We need to go up these steps.
Our friend ordered the above quiche and
something that looks like a scone with dried herbs and served with cream.
Someone ordered latte.
I ordered Earl Grey tea (refillable) and
this tiramisu cake.
The birthday boy ordered the above with chocolate topping and
the house's special bagel with filling.
It was a treat by his aunt for the young man's belated birthday celebration.
~~~~~
Our one dish home cookd dinner.
I used the whole bearded chicken and a bottle of raisin wine to cook this "Drunken Chicken Soup". Other ingredients used: wood fungus, red dates, goji berries, and ginger. With this soup, we had mee sua chicken wine soup. This portion was enough for 2 dinners.
One of our morning walk, we came across this dog sitting by the roadside.
He was sitting so upright and all the focus on what was ahead of him. I guess it might be waiting for its owner who had gone across the road to the recreational park.
Such a smart looking dog on guard, staying so focus.
For the Lord grants wisdom!
His every word is a treasure of knowledge and understanding.
He grants good sense to the godly - his saints.
He is their shield, protecting them and guarding their pathway.
He shows how to distinguish right from wrong,
how to find the right decision every time.
English Scones And Tea At Ye Olde Smokehouse, Cameron Highlands
We have made many trips to Cameron Highlands but this is the first time we visited the Ye Olde Smokehouse in Cameron Highlands. One of us has a friend working there and so we stopped by for a visit and of course to taste their English scones and tea.
Front view of the Smokehouse.
We were interested in the homemade jam and English scones.
Stone cottage.
We want to enjoy the flowers and garden. We took pictures and left behind our footprints.
After the photography session, it was time to sit down to enjoy our tea and scones.
I drank my Cameron tea with milk minus the sugar.
We each had a scone.
Strawberry jam and clotted cream for our scones.
This homemade strawberry jam is so delicious.
This was a wonderful experience for me, eating English scones and sipping tea in a beautiful garden.
These was our lunch on the 2nd day of our holiday.
Walking to the car park.
For the 2nd day's dinner, we had hot pot again just to finish or use up whatever food or ingredients we brought to the highlands.
This time we had 3 packets of fresh mushrooms added to the hot pot. We finally managed to finish all the food and nothing was wasted. We spent the rest of the evening chit chatting and looking through all the photos we had taken. For future trips, we hope to take along some card games to play.
This cute Snoopy dog picture was hanging in our room.
The 2nd night was not as cold as the first night.
Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty.
Cameron Highlands BOH Tea Centre And Dinner At Likarli Restaurant, Ipoh
Today will be the last posting on our short holiday in Cameron Highland. After checking out from the apartment, we drove to the Sungai Palas BOH Tea Centre and Factory for a short visit.
 The road is narrow and winding.
  As we approached every sharp corner, the driver has to sound the horn to warn oncoming car from the opposite direction.
 We saw some workers trimming the hedges at the edge of the road.
 The centre and factory is open from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
It is closed on Mondays.
Visitors have to leave their vehicles at the public car park and walk up the slopes to the centre.
 Pretty flowers in front of the centre.
The hill tops are covered with tea plants.
 Tea cafe where visitors can enjoy different types of tea and snacks.
Has anyone tasted these interesting items?
Cendol Cheese Cake & Nasi Lemak Cheese Cake!
 We ordered tea and strawberry tart to try while we enjoyed the cool air.
And also enjoy the mountain covered with tea plants.
Later, visitors will walk down this path with steps to the public car park. We chose to walk down the tar road. From the tea centre, we drove on and then stopped at the Last Stop!
 These are the Cameron Apples.
Flowers of Cameron Apples. A friend took this snapshot.
 Looks nice but I again missed buying some to try.
I will have to wait for the next trip to taste these Cameron apples.
 Green Passion fruits.
We timed our journey to reach the lowland in time for dinner at Likarli Restaurant in Bandar Siber, Ipoh.
Pork Rib
Mantis prawns.
 Steamed Red Tilapia with savoury sauce.
 Silky Tofu topped with dried prawn and salted radish.
Paku Pakis veggie with prawn paste and chili.
Here ended our Cameron Highlands holiday and thank God for safe journey.
Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven,
for his loving-kindness continues forever.
