Stopping At Uncle Chow Kopitiam & Visits To Flower Gardens

We were looking forward to have our lunch at Barrack Cafe, which was recommended by a friend but it only opens at 2 pm on weekdays. We have more than 2 hours to wait, so someone suggested eating something light before we visit the flower gardens. We chose Uncle Chow Kopitiam.

 We ordered 2 bowls of curry noodles to be shared by 4 people.

 And 1 chicken pie for sharing because I wanted to taste their chicken pie.

 First, I cut it into halves.

 Then into quarters.

We were at the Kea Farm when my friend accidentally saw the Kea Garden apartment which we were searching for on our previous visit.

We went to the Receptionist for some information.

They also have these mini budget chalets.

 The entrance is decorated with colourful lanterns.

 We have visited this place a few times and never knew that the Kea Garden apartment is just right behind the popular Kea Farm stalls.

"Orang Asli".
Before the arrival of the first visitor, the dense jungle-covered expanse of the Titiwangsa range was home to the indigenous aboriginal people known as the "Orang Asli'. Directly translated, this means "Original People". They are the native dwellers who know the rainforest like the back of their hand, living on nature's rich sustenance.

A Short Getaway To Cameron Highlands.

One morning I received a call from a friend informing me that she will be handing me the set of keys to her Cameron Highland apartment. We had earlier made arrangement for a short getaway as a group to Cameron Highland to escape the hot weather here and also to check out our friend's apartment. But somehow the plan to visit as a group didn't materialize as some were tied down with their own plans. So in the end only four of us went ahead with our own plan for a 2D1N stay in the highlands.

We started out early at about 7.30 am.

Good to avoid the haze even only for 2 days.

We chose the weekdays ahead of the long weekend holidays.
We had just celebrated our nation's National Day on 31st August.

We are slowly losing our beautiful limestone hills to the quarry industry.

Many of our limestone hills are fast disappearing.

We enjoyed a leisure drive up to Cameron Highlands.

Our first stop was at Green View Garden. 

Greeted by these big red Amaryllis flowers at the car park.

Followed by these  pretty bunch of light purple flowers.

This round, the weather in Cameron Highland was not as cold as expected.

This is the master bedroom with attached bathroom in our friend's apartment.

We had some fun time photo snapping with these cute smiley pillows. After having rested, we went out to look for something to eat.

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything;

tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers.

If you do this, you will experience God's peace,

which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.

His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet 
and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

I Didn't Know That My Hibiscus Petals Make Delicious Salad

Few mornings ago, I was watering my plants as usual. As I reached the end of my garden to water the Hibiscus plants, I noticed that one of the yellow hibiscus flower bud had a gaping hole.

I took a closer look and it seemed that something has bitten off the petals of this flower bud. It has also taken a bite off the other smaller flower bud, as you can see from the above picture.

I started to look for the culprit and then I spotted this yellow faced hopper looking at me from behind the hibiscus leaves. It looked like it was giving me a wide grin.

I quickly took a snapshot of this cheeky grinning face.

The grinning hopper then moved further behind a leaf.

It must have chewed on it too.

Then it started to climb up the hibiscus plant until it reached the top.

I thought it will fly away but it didn't.

It just perched up there watching my every movement.

Then it moved down and turned its back towards me.

Then it moved again to try to hide itself behind the hibiscus stem.

When I turned the water spray on it, off it went to cling onto this Japanese Bamboo plant some distance away.

The next morning, I noticed that the hopper came back to finish off most of the Hibiscus petals, leaving behind the style and stigma of the flower. It must have found the petals delicious to be eaten as salad!

At least, it didn't chewed up all the flowers.

It left behind one for me to enjoy a blooming Hibiscus flower.

The next day, I saw the hopper perched on the winged beans plant that is next to the Hibiscus plants. I suppose it couldn't go far because it has lost one of its hind legs or that it finds my Hibiscus flowers delicious and irresistible.
