Lunch At Dong Cafe, Ipoh.

How does it feel on the first day of the New Year 2019? To me, it is just like any normal day.

Two weeks ago in the middle of December last year (sounds like a long time ago), hubby returned home from work and asked me out for lunch. I remembered Dong Cafe and quickly mentioned this place. My friends and I went once but turned out it was their off day. There is a side entrance to the cafe which is on the right and a gift shop on the left. Visitors can shop at the gift shop. The handicrafts are made by Persatuan DAYBREAK, a vocational training centre for People with Disabilities.

Okay, back to the Dong Cafe. We ordered the following for our lunch. Anything spicy such as Chicken Rendang and Nyonya Laksa always attract me.
Signature Blue Rice with Nyonya Chicken Rendang @ RM 22.00
Nyonya Laksa @ RM 16.00
It was served with a calamansi lime in a cute "duck" saucer.
Squeeze and add the calamansi juice for the extra omph!
Just looking at this picture makes me drool.
Bubur Cha Cha @ RM 5.00
Thick coconut milk and generous amount of ingredient.
Next visit, hope the ingredient will be softer.
Earl Grey Supreme Tea @ RM 9.00
Request for hot water unlimited.
Total cost for lunch - RM 52.00

For God says, "Your cry came to me at a favourable time,
when the doors of welcome were wide open.
I helped you on a day when salvation was being offered."
Right now God is ready to welcome you.
Today he is ready to save you.

  8. I had dinner with my buddy and watched fireworks on NY eve. The first day of 2019, I was alone, enjoying my solitaire time, so it is like a normal day to me.

I would want that Nyonya chicken rendang and bubur cha cha but would prefer white rice.

Wow so many treaures at Dong cafe, I like the cabinet of tea pots and antique irons.

The decorations at the side entrance also nice.

Can see that they really put in effort in decorating the cafe.
