Morning Walk & Breakfast In Penang

When it was bright enough, hubby and I went down to take our morning walk around the hotel. It was about 7:20am plus with gloomy sky.

There was not much traffic at that time.
Macallum Central Hotel.
I wonder if the boss of this chicken rice shop is a fat man.....
The sign above caught my eyes.
"Drink High"
I suppose this sign will be light up at night.
Our friend told us that this is a well known stall selling sweet porridge.
Bubur kacang, gandum & pulut hitam or peanut, oat and black glutinous rice porridge.
They were closed both times we were here.
~~~~~
I didn't ask our friend where he was taking us for breakfast.
Our friend ordered 2 bowls of white curry noodles for 4 of us to share. The curry only tastes good after adding the curry paste served in the spoon.
2 bowls of prawn noodles, also for sharing.
Thin crispy pancakes or apom. Nice and crispy when eaten still warm.
Mixed fruit dessert.
That is all for 4 of us.
~~~~~
Our friend stopped the car in front of the bank. One of us went into the bank and I got down to take some snapshots.
Sculptures of golden rats.
Pulau Tikus means Rat Island.
A few steps away is another sculpture (side view).
A golden rat riding on a bullock cart (front view).
After this, we went back to the hotel, packed, checked out and drove back to Ipoh.

Sing praises to the Lord!
Raise your voice in song to him who rides upon the clouds!
Jehovah is his name - oh, rejoice in his presence.

Dinner At Spice Pisa Cafe, Bayan Lepas, Penang

After having enough of the foodie experience, we finally got ourselves checked in at the hotel. Those who were tired rested in their room while the rest of us decided to walk off some calories before dinner.

A few places were suggested for dinner and finally. a friend directed us to Bayan Lepas for dinner. We didn't mind the distance, after all we were not hungry yet. At the Spice Pisa Cafe, Bayan Lepas., we were spoiled for choice. We first took a walk to look at all the stalls before we could decide what we want to eat.
 We ordered baked mud crabs at RM 60 per kg.
These 3 crabs weighed exactly a kg.
 A plate of oyster omelette
First we ordered 1 plate, then followed by another plate of roasted pork.
By the time I took this snapshot, half plate already gone!
Penang prawns noodles.
2 plates of ikan panggang or spicy bbq sting ray
 A plate of thin pancakes
 Muah chee or soft glutinous rice flour balls with peanut powder.
 This is a great place for those who love varieties and street food.
 And just across the road, there is this Lucky Eatery foodcourt.
 A night view of of the Jubilee Clock Tower taken from a moving car.
A close up of an antique Chinese ink brush set.
(found this treasure at the dessert shop at Lebuh Melayu, Penang)

This is what I have asked of God for you:
that you will be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love,
and that you will have the rich experience of knowing
Christ with real certainty and clear understanding.
For God's secret plan, now at last made known, is Christ himself.
In him lie hidden all the mighty,
untapped treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Delicious Sweet Pancake (Apom) & Durian Ice Cream In Penang.

After we have tasted the char koay teow. we drove on to look for pepper crackers. I missed the pepper crackers or pepper biscuits. Our friend took us to a particular shop but was told that the baker was still on leave after the mid-Autumn or moon cake festival. We have no choice but went on to another biscuit shop and we managed to buy some biscuits.
Passing by the famous Ghee Hiang which is famous for sesame oil.
This trip, we found this pancake stall opened for business.
We ordered 15 pieces of banana pancakes.
At peak hours, there will be a long queue for these pancakes.
 This uncle was too busy to keep his stall neat and tidy.
The pancakes are cooked in this round pan and the banana peels were placed around the base of the pan. The heat cooked the banana peel to give out a nice fragrant.
A newspaper cutting about these pancakes selling like hot cakes.
Only 9 pancakes can be made at one time.
You can choose to have corn pancakes or banana pancakes.
Pancakes left to cool on this tray before they are packed.
Once tasted, you will come back for more.
This is one of the must eat item for our next trip to Penang.
Stopped to take this cool mural.
The shortest way is through the back door.
We came here for their delicious and tasty Durian Ice Cream
They have been selling the best ice cream since the 1900's
The durian season has just ended but durian ice cream is still available.
We ordered 3 bowls for 6 people to share.
Topped with generous portion of red beans and a jelly on one side
And loaded with generous portion of corn cream on the other side, and topped with 2 scoops of durian ice cream
If you want to taste this delicious and tasty ice cream or other food,
