Surviving Public Toilet Inconveniences.

I am sure we all have unpleasant experiences when using public toilets and we will try our very best to avoid using public toilets. Of course, there are public toilets that are clean and we enjoyed the convenience of using these clean toilets. But, there are still many public toilets in our country that most people would not use unless there is an urgent need or an emergency nature call.

There were times when I really could not hold it any longer and I really have no choice but to use the only toilet available. The sight and stench was terrible and there was no water to splash or to clean the mess. I had no choice but to try to hold my breath as long as possible. Sometimes, there are toilets without any toilet tissue and the water hose is just left lying on the wet and dirty floor.

If I have to use public toilet, I prefer to use the squatting ones than the sitting toilets. Sometimes, I will find shoe prints on the toilet seat! There are also times when the toilet doors do not have a latch to lock the door!

 It is good to keep some of these plasters in our handbags. These will come in very handy in times of need.

These are very useful items to keep in our handbags. Some toilets have hangers on the toilet doors but have you heard of stories about handbags being hooked out from the toilet? With these hangers, we can stick one of this on the wall near to us to hang our handbags. Then we can go about our private business without having to keep an eye on our handbags.

And this last item is a face mask in case the stench is too strong for us. These items are small and light, very convenient to carry in our handbags.

Besides the above items, I always make sure I have ample supply of toilet tissue in my handbags. They are especially useful when I am forced to use a public sitting toilet. I use the tissue to cover the toilet seat so that I can seat on a clean surface.

Proper maintenance of public toilets is very important. But I feel that we as users of public toilets are also responsible for leaving them clean after using them. I am sure if everyone of us take it upon ourselves to clean up our own mess, not step on the seats, wipe up any spills and most of all to flush properly, then we will all be able to enjoy much better and cleaner public toilets in Malaysia.
