Dawn At The Beach At Tanjung Bungah, Penang.

As usual, I didn't sleep well on the first night. I managed  to drift in and out of sleep between 2 am to 6 am and that is consider good. By 6 am, I was out of bed and half an hour later, we were ready to walk down to the beach. We took the narrow path next to the hotel building that leads to the beach.
I stopped to take this photo of the apartment we were staying in. The moonlight and lights from the nearby buildings lighted up the path for us.
It was a short walk and we passed by a few fishermen's huts and big trees to get to the beach.
No sign of sunrise yet. The straight lines on the beach are ropes from the fishing boats tied to the big trees.
As we came out to the open, we could see fishing boats on the water.
The only sound we heard was the waves lapping on the beach.
I noticed a lone man sitting in his boat.
He was waiting for his fishing companion to join him on the boat.
Some of the fishing boats have rainbow colours.
A simple fishing boat.

Trying to get a better close up view of the boats without getting my feet wet.
I can see a plastic chair in the boat.
We then walked to the right and saw a man walking on the sand. We couldn't go over from our side because we were separated by this stretch of water.
He picked seashells by the seashore....
High rise hotel buildings and apartments lined the shore. When I took this photo I didn't know that, that is the floating mosque of Tanjung Bungah, Penang.
Reflection of sunrise on the building.
I will share the sunrise photos on the next Skywatch Friday.
I have to tilt my head backwards to take a photo of this tall building towering over me.

O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth,
I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.

Check In To Leisure Cove Hotel & Apartment, Penang.

The day before we start out journey to Penang, I rang up to confirm the direction to the Leisure Cove Hotel & Apartment in case we have problem with the Waze app. It is a 7 storey building and can't be seen from the main road because it is off Jalan Tanjung Bungah. At least I have a rough idea of its location and what to look out for,

The organizing members of the church camp were already there to take care of the registration of participants. For security purposes, a key card was provided for each room to have access to the lifts and room.
Lift lobby
We were allocated a room in a fully air-con apartment on the 2nd floor. Every apartment has 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room with a television, fridge, kettle, microwave oven & kitchen basin just like in a hotel.
After having rested and a bath, we were ready for dinner. Dinning hall is on the ground floor.
Queuing up for food
After dinner, there was a time of ice-breakers to warm up and getting to know one another.
Participants are to stick on facial masks. Finding your own kind and gather as a group.

There were altogether 6 groups. Members of the monkey group.
After a few ice-breakers, we settled down to the 1st session by the guest speaker.

After the night session, most of us were tired and sleepy. We were not hungry so we opted for an early bedtime. Some went out to look for supper.

There are three things too wonderful for me to understand - no, four!
How an eagle glides through the sky.
How a serpent crawls upon a rock.
How a ship finds its way across the heaving ocean.
The growth of love between a man and a girl.
