Ipoh Railway Station And The Surrounding Buildings

We were at the Ipoh Railway Station end of January to help buy tickets for a friend. Hubby went in to get the tickets and I took the opportunity to snap some photos of the surrounding.

This is the place where the rhythmic water fountain is. A nice place to relax and great for an evening stroll to enjoy the colourful water fountain. Behind the Ipoh sign is the Ipoh town hall.
Below the Ipoh sign, you can see wall sculptures of tin mining activities.

I am walking towards the Ipoh town hall.
Ipoh town hall was built in 1914

A stone brick cenotaph, unveiled in 1927 to honour men from the state of Perak who died in the Great War.
In memory of those who fell in the two world wars:
1914 - 1918
1939 - 1945
In memory of those who died building the Thailand-Burma Death Railway.
Across the road is the Ipoh high court.

Ipoh has been my hometown since 1967 until now (more than 52 years)
