I have a beautiful Yellow Alder or Yellow Buttercup plant growing in front of my house.
Some of its common names are Yellow Alder, Yellow Buttercup, Sage Rose, Cuban Buttercup, etc. Its scientific name is Turnera Ulmifolia.
A church friend gave me this baby plant. I planted it in a small pot and placed it where it was exposed to the morning sun.
It bloomed the 1st flower at about 8 inches tall.
The flower is bright yellow with 5 paper thin petals.
Bees and butterflies are attracted to the striking yellow flowers.
It is an evergreen plant with dark green leaves.
As the plant grows, it branches out into a bush.
It flowers throughout the year and the flowers last the whole day.
It grows well in well drained garden soil.
It loves the partial or full sun.
The young stems are green.
The older stems are brown and woody.
It is a very low maintenance plant.
And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers
that are here today and gone tomorrow,
won't he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?
