Cooking Bitter Gourd With Fried Dace + Black Beans

In my area, there are 4 pharmacies. They are close to one another, as close as about 2 to 3 shops away or just across the road. The furthest one is only 200m away. I can easily reach any one of them in 3 minutes if I drive but if I were to walk, it will probably take me about 10 minutes. When the latest or 4th pharmacy opened, hubby and I visited and we came back with some nice free gift.

We each received a gift bag and each bag has the above items.
For every purchase of a certain amount (I can't remember how much), we get a free spin and both of us received the above toothpaste. These 2 tubes of toothpaste will last us for some time.

Back in my garden.
Bitter gourd or bitter melon.
This round the bitter gourd plant was skinny and only produced 3 bitter gourds.
This was the first fruit and the biggest.
I harvested the first fruit and 2 long okras.
For dinner, I cooked the bitter gourd and okra with a tin of fried dace + black beans.
We had some leftover waxed duck from the previous day's dinner.
That evening, we had porridge with the above 2 dishes.

A song to sing on the Lord's Day.
It is good to say thank you to the Lord,
to sing praises to the God who is above all gods.
Every morning tell him, "Thank you for your kindness,"
and every evening rejoice in all his faithfulness.

Dinner At Restoran Xi Lai Kitchen, Menglembu

Again we have to cancel our morning walk because it was drizzling. Even though we were early, reaching Ipoh old town at about 7:20am, the coffee shop that hubby wanted to go for the curry noodle was fully packed with customers. So, we decided to go to Kedai Kopi Sin Yoon Loong. I can't remember when it was the last time we were here, must have been many years.

We ordered 2 unsweetened coffee (kopi-c kosong).
2 plates of bbq pork wan ton noodle (char siew wanton mee).
Minced pork dumplings (wan tan).
My cranberry hibiscus plants are growing tall and blooming again.

That evening, we had dine-out dinner with friends. We went to a place in Menglembu new township which we have not been before.
We ordered pork belly with salted fish in claypot.
Crispy fried salted herbal chicken - half a chicken.
Fried brinjal with salted egg yolk.
We enjoyed the dinner very much and this place is worth revisiting.
Menu on the wall.
Comfortable place, not very crowded.

What is Kitty Kola? Kitty Kola was a cola flavoured soft drink. It came from England and was introduced in Sweden in 1953.

The Lord's wisdom founded the earth;
his understanding established all the universe and space.
The deep fountains of the earth were broken open by his knowledge,
and the skies poured down rain.

Breakfast At Restoran Sun Heng Kee, Ipoh

We have been skipping our morning walk on and off for almost more than 2 weeks due to the rainy weather. One particular morning, the sky looked like it was going to rain, so we decided to drive out to town for breakfast. We decided to try out the food at Restoran Sun Heng Kee which we haven't been to.

1st breakfast on a Monday morning.

After checking out all the stalls, I decided to ordered chicken wine soup with wheat noodle (meesua).
Hubby ordered flat rice noodle with egg gravy (wan tan hor).
The 1st day's breakfast was good.
2 days later, we went back to the same place for breakfast.
This time, hubby wanted to try the curry noodle as he saw many customers ordering it.
And I wanted to try the assam laksa from the same stall as the curry noodle. Between the 1st and 2nd day, we enjoyed the 1st day's breakfast more. Since this is a rainy season, we may have many opportunities to try out the places which we haven't been to.

According to the writing above, the food stalls have been in operation since 1973 in one of the side alleys. They are now located permanently at Diamond Cafe, Jalan Tranchell, Menglembu. The curry noodle business has been handed down to the 3rd generation.

God has sent me to help his Church
and to tell his secret plan to you Gentiles.
He has kept this secret for centuries and generations past,
but now at last it has pleased him to tell it to those who love him
and live for him, and the riches and
glory of his plan are for you Gentiles, too.
And this is the secret: Christ in your hearts is your only hope of glory.
