Breakfast At Kedai Kopi Sin Choi Yuen & Home cooked Dinner.

One morning after our walking exercise, we decided to have our breakfast somewhere nearby at Kedai Kopi Sin Choi Yuen. As I walked in, I noticed a new stall and on closer look, I saw that it was a pan mee stall. 

Initially, I wanted to order the normal pan mee in clear soup but when I found out that they have chicken curry, I opted for pan mee noodle with chicken curry.

The veggie soup is served separately when the noodle is the dry version.

This was my pan mee with chicken curry and the green veggie soup. 

 This was my hubby's breakfast - pork noodle.

 Without ordering, the boss knows our regular unsweetened black coffee.

That evening, I wasn't in lazy mode, so I decided to cook.

 There was pork rib in my freezer. I stewed the pork rib with ginger slices, bird's chilies from my garden and some bean paste. Great to eat with white rice.

 I used up the remaining greens from my fridge and stir fried the greens with chopped garlic.

Early Dinner With Friends At Restoran Pin Sum, Menglembu.

It was a Wednesday and we were expecting our outstation friends. They will be staying overnight with us as our guests and will be leaving for their home the next day. It will take about 3 hours plus for them to reach Ipoh depending on the traffic flow on the highway. We knew they will be late and will be hungry by the time they reach Ipoh.

It was past 4 pm when our friends reached our house. By this time, most of the eateries would have been closed for the day and the night eateries have not yet open for business. The first eatery we went to was already closed, so we ended up in Restoran Pin Sum. We were the last customers before they closed up for the day. So this meal turned out to be our early dinner.

Our friend likes this savoury dish, so we ordered pig's intestine fried with dried chilies.

Wat Tan Hor - Stir fried koay teow or flat rice noodle with thick gravy.

Sum See Meen - Stir fried noodle with mushroom strips, meat. etc.

Pickled green chilies to eat with the noodles.

Total cost of dinner with herbal tea for 4 people

That night our friends had a wedding dinner to attend.

Then the angel said to me,"Write this:

Plantago Major Herbal Drink & Tiny Critters From The Garden

Recently I noticed that the Plantago Major plants in my garden are growing very well and healthy. They can be found growing in flower pots and on the ground. Here, we called the plants "Teen Koon Choe" in Cantonese and we use the plants as a herb for cleansing the urinary track and bladder.  I harvested the bigger plants and left the smaller ones for a later harvest. A herbal drink boiled from this herb will be good for the body during this hot weather. I shook all the dirt from the roots in the garden before taking them into my kitchen.

The harvested plants were then soaked in water in a basin to further loosen any dirt from the roots. The herb is usually boiled whole together with the roots with parboiled barley. I used raw barley because that was what I had in the fridge.

We drink this herbal drink for cleansing of urinary bladder, urinary track and kidney of impurities and stones.

While harvesting the Plantago Major herb from my garden, I noticed this tiny insect on the Eggplant or Brinjal leaf.

 It is a pretty tiny insect with wings that looks like a pretty moth.

 It was then that I noticed that my green eggplant has turned yellow. It was well hidden from my sight behind a leaf.

 As I was going through the Critters folder, I found something similar to the pretty winged insect. These photos were taken in our friends' garden. They found this joined couple in their garden and they got them safely out of their dogs' way.

 According to our friends, this couple has been joined together since the previous day.
