Today Is Christmas Day!

Of all days, today I overslept but thank God it was not too late to get ready for Christmas Day celebration. We still have time for a light breakfast. It was a bright, sunny morning.

We managed to reach church early and still have time for some snapshots.

See, many of the pews have not been filled up yet.

Hor Hee Noodles For Breakfast @ Huang Ye Ye, Ipoh.

Woke up to a lovely morning. Checked and happy to find that it was not drizzling outside, so quickly got ready to go for the early morning walk.

Reached the recreational park at 6.50 am.

It was the once a month outing for my friend and I. No matter how busy we are, we have been keeping this monthly routine to have breakfast together and also to pay our bills at the Ipoh UTC.

 This month we had Hor Hee noodles for breakfast at Huang Ye Ye.

Both of us ordered the same Hor Hee noodle.

(Hor Hee is noodle with fish balls, fish cakes and special hor hee wonton)

Besides Hor Hee noodle, there are also various kuih for sale.

Will have to wait for the next visit to try out the kuih.

Yesterday, we had an early Christmas celebration at the Salvation Army Home for the Aged. A Christian brother sponsored the buffet lunch.

The Colour Changing Flower Of Hibiscus Mutabilis

There is one flower that I like very much and that is the colour changing flower of the Hibiscus Mutabilis aka Cotton Rosemallow.

Another name for this flower is the Confederate Rose.

In the morning, the new flower will appear in white.

I took this snapshot after a light shower.

The sad thing about this flower is that it is very prone to pests.
I wonder if others have the same problem concerning this plant.

Twice I have grown this plant in my garden.

And both times, my plants were destroyed by the pests.

By midday, the white started turning pink.

These snapshots were taken before the pests attacked my plant.

From light pink to deeper pink.

Before the plant was destroyed, I managed to propagate some for a friend.

I might consider growing this again sometime in the future.
Just have to wait and see.

Cute puppies are so adorable.

We saw this cat resting under the shade of the car.

To avoid being stepped on, the cat went further under the car.
