My friends mentioned that they have not been to Restoran Mun Ji for dinner for a long time. The reason is because during peak hours, the place is always packed with customers and waiting time for the food may takes 60 to 90 minutes. In order to avoid the crowd, the best time will be about 5.30 pm which might be too early for some to take their dinner.
On the last Friday of 2016, my friends suggest going to Restoran Mun Ji for dinner and they are prepared to wait for the food. We reached the restaurant at 6.30 pm and the place was almost full. After we have ordered the food, we kept track of the time and true enough, our food arrived at our table almost 90 minutes later. Well, if you want good and tasty food, we have to wait for it. Below was our dinner for 5 people.
A Steamed Black Tilapia with generous topping of spicy and savoury sauce.
Clay Pot Tofu.
Sweet, sourish and savoury chicken - Marmite Chicken.
Amaranth Greens or Yeen Choy with 3 types of eggs gravy.
(normal chicken egg, salted egg and preserved century egg)
The light yellow is the normal egg yolk, the orange is the salted egg yolk and the black & brown is the century egg.
My friend lent a helping hand to lift the Amaranth Greens for my camera.
Give me a helping hand,
for I have chosen to follow your commandments.
(Psalm 119:173, New Living Translation-NLT)

DeleteIt does look worth the wait! And when it is so crowded, you know the food has not been sitting around back in the kitchen. Oh how I would love to try the egg dish!
ReplyDeleteThe minute they open the door for business, customers started to fill up the tables.
DeleteI tend to like my fish steamed rather than fried, so I'd most likely order that steamed tilapia as did you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI understand that when the fish is free, steam is the best!
