1st Cycle Of New Chemo Drug

Two days after our dining room roof was blown off, I was admitted to the hospital for my chemo treatment. This was supposed to be the 3rd chemo cycle but this round the doctors decided to change to new chemo drugs. For this new chemo treatment, I will have to go through 9 cycles, once in every 2 weeks. I will be on chemo drip continuously for about 48 hours, so I will have to be warded in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights.

Early morning sky at 6:45am.
For the past 2 weeks and more, the first half of the days were hot and sunny. By 3 to 4 pm, the sky will go dark. Then there will be strong wind and heavy downpour, scary thunderstorm. When I was admitted into the hospital for my 1st of 9 cycles chemo treatment, our roof was not fixed yet. It was a stressful whole week for us until the roof was fixed and our dining room was fully covered.

My stay in the hospital for my chemo treatment was pleasant and comfortable. I had to be admitted by 7am on the 1st day and by the time the chemo drip was over, I was discharged from hospital about 11pm plus, reached home and by the time I took my bath and went to bed was about 2am plus. I slept most of the next morning because I was feeling tired. By afternoon, I was feeling good and active. That was 5 days after the roof was blown off and our roof was not covered yet. Every time it rains, we couldn't sleep until the rain stops because hubby has to keep watch.

After 8 stressful days and nights, we breathed a sigh of relief when the roof was finally fixed. We can start to shift back our dining furniture back to the dining room. There was much cleaning to do for hubby and I helped in small ways that I can managed.

With loving care, my friend nursed this little bird back to health and about a month later, it took its first bath.

  15. Dear Nancy :=)
    I hope and pray that the new chemo treatment works. You certainly have had a lot to contend with, and your hubby also, and I'm glad your roof is now fixed. We are having crazy hot weather here, unlike anything I have experienced before. I really enjoyed the video. The little bird seems quite at home enjoying his bath. I hope your friend will send you some follow up videos.:=)
    All the best.

    1. Thank you, Breathtaking. Yes, the main causes of stress is now behind us. Our weather is also very hot. In fact, it is heat wave here. The bird is now very comfortable with the humans and refuses to fly away.

  16. Sorry to have been absent for a while, so I am just learning about the damage to your roof. That was the last thing you needed, I am sure. Your new regimen of chemo sounds daunting, but if it is effective then it will be worth it. Cancer is a very cruel enemy. All the best - David

  20. Oh wow I have missed so much over the time we were away and then trying to get straight on our return. I did not realise that you had already had chemo and that you are now heading for a second lot. I wish you all the very best and I hope and pray that it is effective. As for your roof being blown off that is something you could do well without, so glad it is now fixed.
    Take care thoughts are with you. A big hug. Diane

  31. I read this post and it brought so much tears to me. I am reading this in a restaurant. It brought back the painful memories of my first chemo which was the strongest injections, plus 8 chemo tablets daily and radiotherapy for 5 weeks (daily). That was early 2022 and I still have ongoing treatment towards recovery.
