Sweet Desserts At Ngong Ping Village, Hong Kong

Hong Kong, Day 2 - Desserts

After Ngong Ping Village, our next destination was Tai O Fishing Village. But first, we need to replenish our energy with some desserts. Pete suggested Po Lin Monastery vegetarian desserts.

While waiting for some of our tour members to come back with the desserts (self-service style), the rest of us sat down to enjoy the garden view and plants.
One of our pretty members with sweet desserts for the group.

I can't remember what is what..

These are bowls of sweet bean curd (tofu fa)
Another set of sweet desserts.
Centre top - yam puffs, on the right - red bean dumplings.
Wheat gluten and a bowl of sweet bean curd (tofu fa)
Sweet sauce and chili sauce.
After having replenished our energy, with renewed strength we all walked to the bus stop.

These neat recyclable collection bins can be found all over Hong Kong. Took this picture at the bus stop, while waiting for the bus to Tai O Fishing Village.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father,
who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal comfort and
a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you
in every good thing you do and say.

Visiting Ngong Ping Village & International Cable Cars Gallery In Hong Kong

Hong Kong, Day 2 - Ngong Ping Village & Cable Cars Gallery

All too soon the cable car ride was over after about 30 minutes ride. It was a fun ride, filled with jokes, laughter, teasing and all the breath-taking view all around us.

Please excuse the poor quality photos in this post. I think my camera was suffering the after effect of the cable car ride.  I think it caught the acrophobia!

While some of our friends climbed up the steps leading to the Buddha statue, the others were either resting or taking photos.

And this one was on the alert!

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober,
set your hope on the grace to be brought to you
when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming.
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires
you had when you lived in ignorance.
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
for it is written; "Be holy, because I am holy."

Early Lunch And Cable Car Ride To Ngong Ping Village, Hong Kong

Hong Kong, Day 2 - Lunch & Cable Car Ride.

By now the rain has cleared and we were ready to visit Ngong Ping Village. The weather was gloomy with very light drizzle on and off.
Waiting at the MTR (mass transit railway) station.

Some of us were hungry and we decided to get an early lunch at Food Republic, an international food court.

Queuing up at food counters. The place was very packed. We managed to get a place for 10 of us.

Some kind of pan fried dumplings.

Steamed dumplings.

Mixed rice pot.

Noodles.

Braised tofu and egg, chicken rice.

A bowl of wanton in soup.

Tummies filled, we are ready for adventure.

Waiting for Pete to get the tickets.

Queuing up for the cable car ride to Ngong Ping Village.

All 10 of us in a cable car.

Took these photos from inside the cable car.

There was a slight drizzle.

This was my 2nd cable car ride.

The first was in Singapore many years ago.

At that time I was so afraid of heights, kept my eyes closed most of the time.

Here in Hong Kong, I had another breakthrough. I was able to enjoy the cable car ride! And I get to enjoy all these beautiful views!

From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them.
I see a people who live apart and
do not consider themselves one of the nations.
