Drunken Prawn Soup For Dinner

This was a Tuesday morning in April.

Sunrise at 7:12am
Starting out on our morning walk.
After a round of morning walk, we stopped at one of our regular coffee shop for shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Drunken Prawns Soup, great for rainy days.
(Prawns, home made glutinous rice wine, wood fungus, goji berries, ginger)
Minced pork with belimbing buluh, dried chilies, garlic.
Sauteed home grown green amaranth with garlic and salt.
~~~~~
One morning, we were in town and hubby made a stop near the GreatWall Cafe at Jalan Lau Ek Ching. I was waiting for him in the car and I happened to turn my head and saw this mural on the side wall of the cafe.
When hubby returned to the car, I got down to take a few snapshots.
Hmmm....smelling the nice aroma of coffee.....
On the side wall.
An appropriate mural on the side wall of the Greatwall Cafe.

Blessed is the Lord,
for he has shown me that his never-failing love
protects me like the walls of a fort!

Sweet Sour Pork Rib Noodle & Drunken Prawn Noodle Soup

We started our morning walk a bit later than usual.

Morning sky at 7:13am.
It turned out to be another cloudy day.
On the reverse side, view of Kledang Hill at 7:14am.
~~~~~
We had breakfast at one of our regular coffee shop.
I ordered sweet sour pork rib noodle (pan mee). It came with a bowl of clear soup with some green vegetable.  It tasted delicious to me. Hubby tried but he doesn't like the texture of pan mee.
Generous portion of pork rib. I don't mind ordering this again.
~~~~~
What did I cook for dinner? Since I had frozen prawns in the fridge and lots of home made raisin wine, I cooked drunken prawns soup.
Ingredients used: 8 big prawns, lots of ginger strips, goji berries, red dates, home made raisin wine, prawns and eggs.
I soaked and cooked mung bean or transparent noodles (toong fun).
We each had a bowl of drunken prawn noodle with 4 big prawns and we finished drinking all the soup. After my dinner I was almost drunk with the wine. I could feel the warm spreading through my whole body.  A great dinner to have on a cool rainy evening.

The night is far gone,
the day of his return will soon be here.
So quit the evil deeds of darkness and
put on the armor of right living,
as we who live in the daylight should!
Be decent and true in everything you do so
that all can approve your behavior.
Don't spend your time in wild parties and getting drunk
or in adultery and lust or fighting or jealousy.

Drunken Prawn Soup, Long Beans Omelette & Vegetable Acar

We went out for our morning walk and as usual, we stopped at our regular coffee shop for our favourite coffee. Lately, we see an increase in the early morning customers dining-in the coffee shop, which is a good sign that business is picking up. Walking home, I took snapshots of the sunrise and clear blue sky with white clouds.

Sunrise at 7:33am.
7:35am
7:40am

7:44am
The current weather is a mixture of sunny days with intermittent rainfall.
White bougainvillea by the roadside in front of a residential house.
We also passed by this variegated purplish bougainvillea.
Both photos are from the same plant.
For this dinner, I managed to clear a tub of frozen prawns and a packet of vegetable acar.
Home grown long beans omelette.
Appetizing vegetable acar
Drunken Prawns Soup - very flavourful.
(Ingredients: Prawns, cauliflower, ginger strips, goji berries, spring onion, sesame oil and Chinese cooking wine)

Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to find out
and do whatever the Lord wants you to.
Don't drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path;
be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by him.

Drunken Prawn Soup For Dinner

I had one packet of prawns sitting in the freezer. I also harvested 2 white eggplants or white brinjals and some sweet potato leaves. What is the simplest recipe to cook the prawns? Should I pan fry the prawns? Should I steamed the prawns? Or should I cook drunken prawn soup? Hmmm... I would like to try drunken prawn soup but will it taste good? Okay! If I don't try, then I wouldn't know.
My drunken prawn soup!
Fry the ginger slices with a little sesame seed oil till slightly brown.
Add 2 bowl of water (just enough for 2 bowls of soup).
Let it boil over low fire to extract the flavour from the ginger.
Add the prawns with shells removed.
When the soup started to boil again, add salt and sugar to taste.
Then add the preferred amount of Chinese cooking wine to the soup.
When the soup started to boil again, off the fire.
Hubby and I enjoyed the prawn soup very much.
We finished off every drop of the soup and all the prawns.
Blanched sweet potato leaves surrounded by blanched white eggplants.
Lazy me just drizzled a bit of soya sauce over the dish.
Steamed Ponni rice for 2 people.
That was my simple home cooked dinner for 2.

The following morning sky photos are for joining Skywatch Friday.
Took these photos at the recreational park.
This view is opposite the rising sun at 7.15 am.
View of the Kledang hills.
On the opposite side, the rising sun blocked by dark clouds at 7.30 am.
7.30 am - dark clouds looming over Klendang hills.
8.20 am - low clouds descending on the hills.
Heavy downpour and strong wind at 3 pm.
The strong wind did this damage to my plant.
My yellow buttercup flower plant broke and had to be cut off.

Notice how God is both kind and severe,
He is very hard on those who disobey,
but very good to you if you continue to love and trust him.
But if you don't, you too will be cut off.
