Lunch At The Brew House

It has been forecasted that this monsoon season will bring heavy rain and residents staying in low lying areas or flood prone areas are to be prepared. For the past few nights, there was no need to air condition our room for us to sleep comfortably. The cool weather is expected to continue. My garden is soaking wet from the rain and there is no need to water my plants.

Yesterday out of the blue I felt like going out for lunch with hubby. I suggested The Brew House since I heard that the set lunches are quite reasonably priced. The set lunches include a soup of the day, a drink and a mini cornetto ice cream.

Sprite soft drink for hubby and ice lemon tea for me.

Soup of the day: ABC soup.

Nice lamp shades.

The booth next to our table has these glass decoration hanging from the ceiling.

Grilled chicken with black pepper sauce for me @ RM18.80

Generous portion of coleslaw and French fries.

Japanese Curry Pork Cutlet with rice for hubby @ RM16.80

And finally 2 mini Cornetto ice cream.

Total cost = RM37.75 (inclusive of 6% SST)

I have a few more places that I want to try in mind but they will have to wait....

Lunch With Golden Girls At The Market Place, Ipoh.

My Golden Girls have been waiting for me to return from Johor Bahru. Once I was home, I quickly called up my friends to confirm our lunch date. We all agreed to meet for lunch on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowd. Started the day by going out for breakfast with hubby.

 I over slept the first morning after my return from Johor Bahru. I thought of my favourite Ban Mee noodles at Restoran Bandaraya, Kg. Simee.

 I ordered the handmade noodles with soup and green spinach (Amaranth). Toppings: deep fried crispy anchovies, black mushroom and wood fungus strips and minced meat.

 Ordered a cup of Kopi "C" kosong.

The Golden girls met at our usual meeting place and together we drove to Ipoh old town.

#4 - Butter & Jam Fluffy Pancake *Orange Marmalade @ RM 9.00

Lunch With Golden Girls At Lc N Ly Cafe, Ipoh.

Last Tuesday, 28th November was our Golden Girls' lunch gathering. Since we wanted to do some shopping at Aeon Big in Falim, we decided to have lunch at LC N LY Cafe, which is opposite Aeon Big. The previous time I was here was in January, 2015 which is coming to about 3 years. For the 4 of us, we ordered the following dishes to share.

We ordered this Smoked Duck meat on skewers with salad.

Grilled Chicken and Lamb with black pepper sauce.

The grilled lamb is sitting right on top of the grilled chicken.

Fried Udon noodle.

I think we ordered the Fried Rice with XO sauce.

We ordered the Shanghai dumplings.

We actually preferred the Fried dumplings.
It was a mistake on our part.

For drinks, we ordered 3 cups of hot lemon tea and I cup of iced coffee.

Lunch @ STG Boutique Cafe, Ipoh Old Town.

On Tuesday. the 4 Golden girls met up for lunch at STG or Sabah Tea Garden Boutique Cafe, Jalan Tun Sambanthan in Ipoh old town.

 We went in one car and I was the driver for that day.

 It was a weekday and the place was not crowded.

All four of us ordered the day's set lunch. 2 hot lemon tea and 2 iced lemon tea.

For starters - carrot & ginger soup with a piece of garlic toasted bread for 2 girls.

And green salad that came in cute little bowls for 2 girls.

The main dish - Percik Chicken with pickles for 2 girls.

And Tuna fish for 2 girls. This was how it was served to us.

 And I made some alternation for my camera...he he....do you see what I see?

Golden Girls Lunch Gathering At De Cuisin, Ipoh

On the 1st of December, 4 golden girls met up for a lunch gathering in town. We were to wait at our usual place. The other 3 then hopped into my car and we drove to Jalan Leong Sin Nam to look for De Cuisine Restaurant. 

A friend recommended this place to me and she told me that her sons used to frequent this place for its good food and reasonable price. So here we were for our lunch and at the same time to strengthen our friendship bonding.

We found a table for 4, sat down and we were given the menus.

We were seated near the wall and I snapped these pictures.

Others were ahead of us but we didn't mind waiting because we had much to catch up with one another. There is no need for us to rush back to the office.

Menu for the set lunch @ RM14.90 (approx. 3.46 USD)

We were each served a glass of iced water.

We all ordered Grilled Chicken set lunch and this was the mushroom soup.

We like the soup, it was good with lots of mushroom pieces and served with 3 cubes of toasted bread. It was not watery like some places.

A friend ordered Grilled Chicken with Black Pepper sauce.

I tasted a bit of the black pepper sauce and it was good.

The other 3 ordered Grilled Chicken with Garlic sauce.

We all enjoyed our grilled chicken with the sauces.

We each added RM1.00 (approx. 0.24 USD) for this dessert.

Ice-cream on a piece of cake - yummy!

By now we were very full.

We were then served our coffee or tea - no photo of coffee or tea.

I saw "mud pie" on the menu and was curious, so we ordered one to try.

It was frozen sweet dessert @ RM7.90 (approx. 1.89 USD).

We requested it to be cut into smaller pieces.

It was a very filling and satisfying lunch, with great bonding!

We have been passing this way many times all these years yet we have never noticed this restaurant until my friend pointed it out to me.
