Lam Mee, Prawn Mee, Chicken Rice & Wild Boar Curry

We have been having overcast sky in the first half of the day and rain in the afternoon or evening.

Sunrise at 7:09am
On the reverse side, Kledang Hill covered with mist.
Mushroom by the roadside.

By 7:20am, most of the mist has gone.
Sun shining through the trees.

Dine-in lunch
Hubby ordered lam mee RM7.20
I ordered prawn mee RM7.60
Don't be mislead by the red colour, it was no spicy at all.

Takeaway Dinner
We bought claypot chicken rice from our regular place. There were chicken, Chinese sausage and a small piece of salted fish in the rice.
Hubby bought 1 portion of wild boar curry.
Sweet mango for dessert. It was a big mango. We each had half a mango.

God's laws are perfect.
They protect us, make us wise, and give us joy and light.
God's laws are pure, eternal, just. They are more desirable than gold.
They are sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb.
For they warn us away from harm
and give us success to those who obey them.

Our Saturday Dinner Before Attending Church.

We usually take our dinner in Ipoh Garden (Gourmet Square) whenever we attend Saturday Church evening celebration. There are many choices to choose from but we seemed to be ordering the same items from the same few stalls. So on this particular Saturday evening, I decided to order something new to try. I took a walk and look at the stalls to see if anything catches my eyes. I came to a stall selling different kinds of pasta.
I ended up ordering this pasta with chicken cubes.
I can't remember the price. Taste wise not bad.
Then on the way back to my table, I stopped to order a dozen of these dumplings with different types of filling to share with hubby.
Hubby ended up with his usual "lam mee" (yellow noodle in plain soup with prawns and chicken slices),
These photos were taken on our way out for dinner at about 6.15 pm. The sun is setting on the right side.

Dinner At Restoran Kam Wah, Ipoh Garden, Ipoh

On Saturdays, I usually do not cook and we will take our dinner at Restoran Kam Wan in Ipoh Garden (opposite the Woolley Food City or Woolley Food Court). There are many varieties to choose from the many stalls there. Below are some of the food we have tried or taken.
This is the non-spicy noodle called "Lam Mee".
The popular curry noodles which my Taiping friends love to eat.

The Tom Yam noodle which I have tried.

Some times I will order some dumplings.

Local spring rolls (popiah) - there is always a queue at the stall.

There are times we also ordered BBQ meat (satay).

Peanut sauce as dipping sauce for the satay.

There is also Fried noodle available.

One of our favourite items - Grilled stingray fish (half).
Grilled stingray fish (whole)
The Grilled fish stall.

And finally our hot favourite - Nasi Pandan or Pandan rice stall.
1 deep fried chicken drumstick + 1 rending chicken drumstick + sambal petai + 1 portion pandan rice = for hubby and I to share.

Some days we order sambal petai + curry chicken + stir fried 4 angled beans + pandan rice = to be shared by hubby and I.

Another day we ordered curry chicken + sambal petai + vegetable acar + pandan rice = to be shared by hubby and I.

Customers queuing up for the Pandan Rice.

This stall opens daily from 5.30 pm and by 7.00 pm most items are sold out.

We rejoiced to see the haze and gloom removed from us.

Thank God for the clear blue sky and clean, fresh air to breathe. The Northeast monsoon season has started and it has been raining almost every afternoon.

If you obey all of my commandments,
I will give you regular rains, and the land will yield bumper crops,
and the trees will be loaded with fruit long after the normal time!
And grapes will still be ripening when sowing time comes again.
You shall eat your fill, and live safely in the land.

Curry Mee, Prawn Mee & Lam Mee @ Sun Seng Fatt, Ipoh Old Town

Few weeks ago, my ex-colleague and I, together with our husbands had our breakfast at Sun Seng Fatt. Initially, this business was operating from an opposite shop. Those days we were much younger and still working. My ex-colleagues and I used to frequent the old place for the famous curry mee and lam mee. Those were the days when we enjoyed going out for breakfast together during our tea break.

After our retirement, we seldom come together to this part of town for our breakfast. On this particular morning, we wanted to show our friends around to see the wall murals, the changes and happenings in old town. So before sight-seeing, we must fill our tummy first. It so happened we found a parking lot near Sun Seng Fatt. Since its has been a long, long time we have not been here, we decided to get a taste of our old favourite noodles.
Curry mee/noodle - yellow noodle with BBQ pork slices, prawns, bean curd ball, crunchy bean sprout, mint leaves in curry gravy.

Prawn mee/noodle - yellow noodle with hard boil egg slices, BBQ pork slices, prawns, crunchy bean sprouts, water spinach, crispy fried onion slices.

Lam mee/noodle - yellow noodle mixed with rice vermicelli, BBQ pork slices, prawns, crunchy bean sprout, thin egg strips in non-spicy soup.

Workers peeling prawns.

MYR 5 (approx. 1.39 USD) per bowl for all types of noodles.

Restoran Sun Seng Fatt, 32, Jalan Market, Ipoh Old Town.

I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all Your works
and consider what Your hands have done.
I spread out my hands to You;
my soul thirsts for You like a parched land.
