Lui Cha Noodle, Fried Chicken, Stuffed Bitter Gourd & Brinjal

This was a Monday.

Our morning walk started at 7:05am.
7:10am.
That morning we at breakfast at Kedai Kopi Sin Choy Yuen, Taman Pertama.
Hubby ordered fried rice vermicelli and I ordered the above "lui cha pan mee" or "thunder tea" noodle.
Lui Cha Pan Mee.
On the way home, I stopped to take a snapshot of the above wild mushrooms growing on a tree stump by the roadside. The wild mushrooms look like white oyster mushrooms.
Birds flying above us.
Corn plants growing in pots in my garden.
Figs from my garden.
That morning, I harvested this big purple custard apple from my garden.
These were harvested from my garden.
~~~~~
I went to the mini post office in Aeon Falim to renew my driving license. It was lunch time and we dined-in at Universe Chicken.
We ordered 2 sets of fried chicken.
We ordered the salted egg series with 2 pieces of drumsticks that includes potato fries and refillable soft drink @ RM16.90
And a ala carte set with 2 pieces of chicken thigh, original flavour @ RM12.90. Total cost including 6% service charge - RM31.59
~~~~~
The fastest way to use up the white bitter gourds and brinjals harvested from my garden is to stuff them with minced port + fish paste.
We ate the whole plate (above) for dinner without any rice.
We had Kewpie roasted sesame dressing and Thai chili as dippings.

Today is the 1st day of the Lent 40 days prayer and fasting.
HAVE A BLESSED ASH WEDNESDAY!

But when you pray, go away by yourself, all alone,
and shut the door behind you and pray to your Father secretly,
and your Father, who knows your secrets, will reward you.

Savoury Glutinous Rice With Chicken Curry & Lui Cha Pan Mee

We started our morning walk early. No sign of sunrise, probably another cloudy day.

Breaking of dawn at 6:50am.
After morning, we drove to Menglembu to buy breakfast because hubby wanted to eat yellow glutinous rice with chicken curry.
We were told that the yellow or turmeric glutinous rice (nasi kunyit) was sold out. Hubby settled for the savoury glutinous rice and the chicken curry and was charged only RM5.
Hubby's breakfast.
We drove back to our own area and I bought the above Lui Cha Pan Mee aka Thunder Tea Pan Mee. The green soup is made from blended herbs e.g. basil and etc.
I added the lui cha soup and ingredient to the noodle.
I enjoy this noodle but its a no, no for hubby.
I harvested the above green brinjals and okra to add to the fish curry for dinner.
I spotted this big grasshopper clinging onto this green brinjal.
On another morning I saw this clinging onto the pole I used to support the brinjal plant.
I think it is the same one that was clinging onto the brinjal.
This is the 2nd portion of the fish curry that I ordered for the previous day dinner. I added in the brinjals and okra.
Remaining lettuce with roasted sesame dressing.
Delicious dinner for 2 people.
No need to sweat in the kitchen.
This was my okra plant when it started to bear okras.
It is now about 4 months old and it has grown very tall and the okras getting smaller. I shortened the okra plant. New branches appeared sideways and are now bearing okras.
Again I saw the grasshopper feeding on the okra leaf.
I zoomed in for a closer look.
It looks like an alien from outer space.

The Lord says: Be fair-minded. Do what is right!
Help those in need of justice! Quit your evil deeds!
Protect the rights of aliens and immigrants, orphans and widows;
stop murdering the innocent!

Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun & Herbal Soup Pan Mee

Today is the 4th day confined to the house. Not really a total one because hubby went out to the nearby shop to buy bread and eggs for our breakfast. This afternoon, I drove out to town to make some payment through the ATM machine at the bank. The whole place was very quiet with only a few cars on the road.

For the past few days, we have been having half boiled eggs, bread with peanut butter or jam with hot milo or coffee. As for tomorrow's breakfast, hubby has requested for burger for his bread. For the time being, all 3 main meals will be prepared in my kitchen until the movement control order is lifted. Pray that the situation will not worsen.

Here are 2 types of breakfast that I took before we were house bound:
1st breakfast - Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun
This is steamed flat rice noodle with bbq pork as filling, served with soy sauce and spicy sambal paste. I took this one day after I had my tooth extracted.
2nd breakfast - Pan Mee in Herbal Soup (Lui Cha Pan Mee).
I love this herbal soup noodle but hubby would not even want to touch it.
This is unsweetened coffee with evaporated milk (Kopi C Kosong). I used to drink coffee everyday but now, I am cutting down on my coffee intake.
When I was watering my plants, this big grasshopper suddenly flew out of the Water Jasmine plant and landed on the wheel of my car. It didn't move even after I took this snapshot.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

Because of his great power he rules forever.
He watches every movement of the nations.
O rebel lands, he will deflate your pride.
Let everyone bless God and sing his praises;
for he holds our lives in his hands,
and he holds our feet to the path.

Dinner At Great Taste Food Junction, Ipoh

Update from my garden. My angled luffa plants are still fruiting.
 We spotted some small luffas hanging down from the vine above us.
 A luffa with a hooked end.
 These two edibles are easy to grow. Hubby and I are very happy with our garden produce and harvest.
 This is one of my favourite noodle but hubby wouldn't touch it.
Herbal soup pan mee or "thunder tea" noodle.
 A very satisfying breakfast at Kedai Kopi Sin Choi Yuen, Taman Pertama, Ipoh.

 7:20 pm - I took these snapshots from a moving car while hubby drove the car.

Keeping the best for the last. Took this in front of my house.

"This is wonderful stuff!" he said.
"You're different from most. Usually a host uses the best wine first,
and afterwards, when everyone is full and doesn't care,
then he brings out the less expensive brands.
But you have kept the best for the last!"
