Grilled Stingray For Dinner

The rainy season is here and we have been having rain almost daily. Moderate rain is good for my plants and it helps cut down on electricity bill.

Morning sky at 7:06am.
On the reverse side, misty hills.
Simple breakfast consisting of Chinese crullers, ma keok and black coffee.
These angled luffas were harvested from my garden 2 days earlier and I gave some to my sister and a friend. 2 luffas is enough to cook a dish for 2 people.
2 days later, I harvested the remaining luffas from the garden before I removed the vines.
The final harvest of angled luffas.

Rice and peanut porridge for lunch.
I almost forgot about the last few small taros in the fridge. They were still good and can be eaten. I boiled the small taros and removed the skin. Then I poured the leftover gravy from a dish over the taro. Boiled all 3 salted eggs because they have been sitting in the fridge for a long time.
~~~~~
Dine-in dinner in a food court.
It was only 5:20pm and not many people around.
I thought of ordering the pandan rice but there were people queuing up. Hubby ordered curry noodle (no photo to show).
Hubby ordered grilled stingray so I decided not to order any food for myself. I made a cup of milo for myself before I went to bed.
Old fashioned grinding stones or pounding stones. Many of these are still in use. These were made from granite stones.
even though you grind them like grain with mortar and pestle.
Beef Soup & Beef Noodle, Baby Yam & Soy Sauce Prawns
While waiting for the sky to brighten up, I went out to sweep the porch area before starting on our morning walk.
Dawn at 6:42am.
I heard birds singing...
There they were on the branches.....
Sunlight and mist on the hills...
Can you see the moon above the sun?
Bright rising sun at 7:20am.
On the reverse side, mist covering Kledang Hill at 8:57am.
We have not eaten this beef soup and beef noodle for months. We heard from our friends that the stall has shifted. We drove all the way to Bercham and found the new location. Bought 1 portion beef soup and 1 portion fried beef noodle.
Beef soup consisting of tendon, tripe and meat @ RM8.50
Hubby doesn't like the smell of cilantro, so I requested for the cilantro to be packed separately.
1 portion fried beef noodle @ RM7 (or was it RM7.50?)
From my garden.
My air plants are flowering.
I have yet to separate them from the mother plant.
Almost mid-day sky at 11:41am.
Our home cooked dinner.
Boiled baby yam, drizzled with garlic oil, soy sauce and some chili dried shrimp.
These baby yams are usually available near mid-autumn festival.
I ate these in place of rice.
Pan fried soy sauce prawns with home grown spring onion.
Old fashioned dressing table and wash basin.
After washing their feet he (Jesus) put on his robe again
and sat down and asked, "Do you understand what I was doing?
You call me 'Master' and 'Lord,' and you do well to say it,
for it is true. And since I, the Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet.
I have given you an example to follow:
do as I have done to you.
Stewed Duck With Bitter Melon & Steamed Baby Taro
We woke up early to a lovely dry morning and was looking forward to our morning walk.
Morning sky at 6:55 am.
After our walk, we went to town for breakfast.
I took this photo while we were waiting at the traffic light.
One of the new buildings in town - The Octagon.
In lower building in front with the palm trees is the police quarters.
Someone wanted to buy this rubber hammer. This is usually used by fish monger to hammer the chopper when they need to cut up the big fishes especially their heads. I too bought one to use in my kitchen. I used this to hammer the chopper to cut the frozen duck into 4 pieces without having to unfreeze the duck.
Stewed duck with white bitter gourd or melon.
Ingredients used: ginger slices, duck, bitter gourd, salted black beans, salted soya beans, etc. I used a quarter of the duck to cook this dish and kept the other 3 quarters back into the freezer.
Steamed small taro or baby yam bought from the supermarket. Drizzled with garlic oil, scallop sauce and light soy sauce, and home grown spring onion.
These were our dinner eaten with some rice for 2 people.
I missed taking a snapshot of the detailed information about the above 2 photos.
