Roast Black Pepper Chicken For Lunch & Dinner

After 69 days under MCO, some of us are eager to resume their normal life such as going out to dine in restaurants and meeting up with friends. There are some who want to play safe by avoiding public places as much as possible. We do miss eating out with friends and taking short local holidays together. We are thankful that we can stay connected with one another using our Whatsapp Group Chat.
Break of dawn at 6:45 am
6:53 am - started our walk.
7:25 am - end of a short 30 minutes walk
~~~~~
Breakfast
Hubby went out on his motorbike to buy breakfast.
He bought nasi lemak and 2 fried chinese doughnuts with sticky rice in the center (karp chung in Cantonese).
Hubby ate the nasi lemak and kept the Chinese doughnuts for mid morning tea.
I ate 2 toasted bread spread with home made peanut walnut butter and kaya. Both of us had hot green tea.
Hubby finished the nasi lemak but left behind some sambal sauce. I didn't want to waste the sambal sauce and it was a good excuse to have another piece of toasted bread spread with the sambal sauce. Now I am full and very satisfied!
~~~~~
Lunch
I thawed the roast black pepper chicken and re-baked it in the oven.
We each had a whole chicken leg for lunch and kept the rest of the chicken for dinner.
~~~~~
Dinner
I cooked this meatless dish, consisting of yam bean (sengkuang) with carrot, fresh mushrooms and home grown spring onions.
I cooked 1 dried Cintan noodle for hubby, mixed with some garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce. Hubby ate only half the amount of chicken and the rest went to my plate.
What happened to the chicken meat that went to my plate? I shredded the meat and together with the yam bean I made chapati wrap.
Yums!
I will be making wraps with the rest of the frozen chapati.
I kept the rest of the yam bean dish in the fridge.
These were shredded and kept in the fridge to make chapati wraps.
This sculpture was found at the Gopeng Gaharu Tea Valley.
Not sure whether it is wood or something that looks like wood.
Saw this golf set at the Sunday Flea Market in June, 2019.
For the time being, Flea Market not allowed under the MCO.
Be humble and gentle.
Be patient with each other,
making allowance for each other's faults
because of your love.
Beautiful Flower Girl Dresses For Your Little Princesses
At the beginning of this year, we received two wedding invitation cards and we were looking forward to attend both the weddings and dinners. All the preparation was going well until we received the announcement for a partial lockdown or the Movement Control Order. The wedding preparation was then temporary put on hold. From two weeks of movement control, it has been extended to four weeks and then to eight weeks. Up till now, we are in the 3rd month of partial lockdown. Things are getting better and once all the restrictions are removed, the preparation for the weddings will resume once again.
Currently, most businesses are opened including restaurants and bridal shops. Those whose weddings have been postponed are eager to set a new date for their wedding. Booking for the wedding hall and catering are being finalized. A new guests list has to be drawn up to adjust to the number of guests allowed into the wedding hall according to the social distancing requirement. In view of this restriction, many will opt for open space wedding such as garden wedding or beach wedding where space is not a problem.
For those who have opted to make the switch from an indoor wedding such as a church wedding to an open space wedding e.g. a garden wedding, they will need to make some necessary changes. They will have to send a new invitation card or at least call to inform their guests of the latest changes. For the bride, the bridesmaid and flower girls, they may have to choose the dresses that are appropriate for an outdoor wedding.
These days, there is a wide selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and cheapflower girl dresses readily available both in the local bridal shops or online stores. The dresses including evening gowns and prom dresses are fashionable and elegant with exquisite and flattering designs to suit all shapes and sizes.
Teochew Rice Porridge With Canned Fried Dace & Lettuce Pickle
It was a Sunday morning and the sky was gray with no pretty sunrise to catch. I watered the plants and did some much needed trimming of my plants since it was a cool morning.
~~~~~
Breakfast
Hubby went to a nearby coffee shop to buy his breakfast.
Steamed flat rice rolls with yam bean filling (chee cheong fun). He added some fish cake, fish ball and pig's skin curry.
I was bored with noodles and I want to finish the above croissant bought from a cake shop. It would taste better if I had toast it in the oven.
A croissant and 2 pieces of wholemeal bread for my breakfast. I spread peanut butter and kaya on the toasted bread. I made a long slit on the croissant and spread it with peanut butter and kaya too.
~~~~~
Lunch
We had leftover food for lunch. I took out the food from the fridge to steam.
Hubby took lemang and some beef rendang. As for me, I ate a piece of bread with some of the beef rendang and 2 small pieces of roast chicken.
I cut this big, sweet and juicy mango for dessert.
I am not sure but I think this is apple mango.
~~~~~
Dinner
I felt like eating Teochew porridge.

We have a few tins of Pickled Lettuce.
I opened a tin of these crunchy pickled lettuce.
Hubby like the above fried dace with salted black beans.

I steamed to warm up the above before serving.
Blanched green amaranth with garlic oil.
Simple dinner for 2 people.
I kept the leftover fried dace in the fridge.
For dessert, we had chilled papaya.
These days, our kind and generous neighbour blesses us with constant supply of papayas.

Light shines in the darkness for the godly.
They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.
