#2 Holiday In Hoi An, Ancient Heritage Village Of Vietnam

At first I thought I will only do a single post on my sister's holiday in Vietnam last month (click here). But after I started to receive more photos from her, I am tempted to share more photos on my blog. These are great photos and I want to document them because I do not know whether I will get to visit Vietnam or not. Once again, all these are photo credit from my sister and nephew.
At the riverside, children selling lighted candles on paper folded like lotus flowers. Each costs 20,000 dong. Both the locals and tourists purchase them. The candles on the paper lotus flowers are then lowered into the river with a long pole. The belief is by doing this, it will invoke 'good luck'.
The boat in the centre carries a wedding couple, the groom with tie and the bride in red. They also floated some candles.

Places of fine dining along the river bank. These are well patronized by western and well heeled tourists.

High class dining. Waitress in traditional Vietnamese costume waiting at the main door to welcome guests.

View of the beach taken from afar.
A closer view of the beach with many families having dinner by the beach.
As the sun goes down, there are people picnicking by the beach.

"My name will be great among the nations,
from where the sun rises to where it sets.
In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to Me,
because My name will be great among the nations,"
says the LORD Almighty.
(Malachi 1:11, New International Version-NIV)

I thought of visiting Malaysia someday but seeing your pics made me realize that i should go to vietnam as well knowing its rich history and the ever famous "Ms. Saigon" as our international broadway star, Ms. Lea Salonga played the lead for the play. :)
