Starting our one day trip to Cameron Highlands.
Early last Monday morning, we drove to Bercham to pick up a friend and we had breakfast in Restoran Hin Fatt. We are not familiar with the food in Bercham so our friend suggested this place.
Hubby ordered "kai see hor fun", a non spicy flat rice noodle with prawn and chicken soup.
These were our breakfast. I forgot to take picture of my friend's breakfast.
She ordered a bowl of "pan mee" which is wheat flour noodle with non spicy soup.
My cup of hot coffee.
The place where we had our breakfast.
After breakfast, we returned to our friend's house to wait for her brother.
We will be going in his car to Cameron Highlands.
As our trip is a leisure one, my hubby suggested that we stopped at Lubok Timah Hot Spring on the way to C. Highlands. We passed by this cut hill. None of us have been there before.
There are chalets and hostels for rental.
A replica of a kampung house.
Ample parking space. The place looks clean.
Resting places.
The midday sun was hot.
I should have taken my umbrella!
Hot spring pools.
The water doesn't looks clear. Could be due to siltation upstream?
It was a Monday, and the place was not crowded.
Looks like a nice place but its a pity the water is not clear.
Bathing here can be fun but can be dangerous too.
Waterfall - water overflowing from both sides of an abandoned reservoir/dam once used for tin mining.
We didn't walk all the way to the waterfall, halfway we turned back.
We need to be on our way to Cameron Highlands.
Anyone wants a pony ride?
How nice if they are free to roam about in a bigger space (my thought).
How nice if they are free to roam about in a bigger space (my thought).
Oil palms .......
Two monkeys chained to the tree.
One is showing its acrobatic act.
Chalets and ice cream stalls.
We took a short rest under a big shady tree, freshen up in the washrooms and continue our journey to Cameron Highlands.
The LORD alone guided them; they followed no foreign gods.
He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields.
He nourished them with honey from the rock
and olive oil from the stony ground.

I've enjoyed C Highland with my husband many many years ago...so I am looking forward to see it again in your next post:) The kampung house is so petty..the wooden fence and everything about it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annie. It is good to hear that you and your husband have visited Cameron Highlands. Have a beautiful day!
DeleteThis is a totally different idea from my idea of a breakfast but it is so tempting:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ola. Have a wonderful day!
DeleteSo long didn't go there liao...
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, sad to say that the weather there is no longer as cold as before. Have a lovely day!
DeleteOh, breakfast looks a lot like what I would eat for lunch. I really love the hot springs and could spend a whole day in a place like it. The area around it also looks very nice. Have a Happy New Year if I do not read you before then.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joyful. Wishing you a Happy New Year too!
DeleteNice and interesting outing, Nan.. never heard of this hot spring before.. me jakun la..! yes, the water doesn't look clear.. maybe hot springs are like that..
ReplyDeleteClaire, I also jakun because this is my first time being there. Just went to look see only, didn't touch the water. Happy New Year to you!
DeleteQue maravilha de fotografias, aproveito para desejar um Bom Ano Novo.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Francisco. Happy New Year to you and family too!
DeleteSuch a pretty place to go down to the water but too bad the water isn't clear. Those people are pretty brave to bath in there.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
JB
Thank you, Julia. Have a Happy New Year!
DeleteVery nice outing. I love the picnic spot if the water is clean & clear. Have been to C. Highlands twice. Lots of beautiful flowers, cactus, veg, strawberries to see. Air is so cooling.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Irene. The picnic spot is great, if only the water is clean and clear. Cameron is not as cool as before.
DeleteI've never been in a hot spring before. Must be an interesting experience. Yes, I'd be suspicious as to why the water was so dirty...definitely not water I'd want to swim in!
ReplyDeleteWe have to be careful if we are to swim in this waterfall water. Sometimes if there is heavy downpour upstream, there will be sudden rush of water which can be very dangerous.
Deletebeautiful place! it would have been nice if the water was clear too. it looks like a relaxing place to be walking around.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kayni. I think the best time will be early in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is not so hot.
DeleteIt looks like a pleasant sort of area.
ReplyDeleteThank you, William. A nice place for family picnics. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Catherine. A great place for family outing and picnics. Have a wonderful day!
DeleteIt's been ages since I have been to Cameron Highlands. The last time I was there, I thought it was quite warm, not so cooling like the time when I was small.
ReplyDeletePhong Hong, you are right. Cameron Highlands is no longer as cooling as before. Too much clearance for development. We can only feel the coolness when it is night.
DeleteHow I would love to see the places you go...for myself. So interesting and different and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose. I also love to see the places you have over there. Happy New Year!
DeleteYeah would have been perfect if the water had been clear. Hopefully that's not a permanent feature.
ReplyDeleteYes, Stacy. I hope it is not a permanent one too.
