Reunion Dinner On Chinese New Year Eve 2016.

Yesterday was a Sunday and it was also the eve of Chinese New Year 2016. On Saturday night, a friend who came back home for the festival, messaged to inform that he will be joining us for Sunday Church celebration.
We will be meeting in church after breakfast.
Due to increase in goods prices, the festive celebration has been slow in picking up. Last few years have been very quiet.
Pretty "ang pau" (red packets) decorations on the wall of my friend's coffee shop.
"Ang Pau" (red packets) fan. If the fan is bigger, more beautiful! All the decorations are very pretty. Maybe next year if I remember, I will do some. I love origami craft.
This was my breakfast. 2 slices of coffee bread with butter and coconut jam (kaya) and a cup of piping hot non-sweetened coffee.
After church, 6 of us "old friends" gathered here for a Reunion Lunch.
The restaurant has recently shifted to this new address, a short distance from their old address.
A plate of "Sing Chow" Beehoon (stir-fry rice vermicelli) with eggs, beansprout, etc.
Stir fried Hor Fun (flat rice noodle) with prawns and pork.
Stewed Yee Meen (deep fried noodles) with pork, prawns, greens, etc.
The moment we reached home after our lunch, I quickly watered my Petunias. The weather is very hot and Petunias in hanging pots need to be watered before they withered.
I have to keep rotating the pots because the Petunias are turning toward the sunlight.
My Petunias are also in festive mood!

Our Reunion dinner consists of some home cooked dishes and some bought ones.
Bought a whole roasted duck RM 50 (approx. 11.98 USD).
Bought a set of Yee Sang from a nearby restaurant.
My family loves this salad dish with plenty of crunchy crispies.
Cost RM 48 (approx. 11.50 USD).

I boiled a pot of soup and I totally forgot to take a photo to show. The ingredients were oink oink stomach, oink oink lean meat, shallots, gingko nuts and crushed black peppercorns.
And a dish of assorted items - green veggie (blanched siew pak choy) to line the plate. Stir fried 2 types of fresh mushrooms, carrots, snow peas with gravy. I pan fried 7 pieces of scallops seasoned with crushed blacked pepper and salt. This was our simple Reunion and Thanksgiving Dinner.

"Amen!" they said. "Blessing, and glory, and wisdom,
and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might,
be to our God forever and forever. Amen!"
(Revelation 7:12, TLB)

  6. Your Chinese New Year celebration meal looks so yummy. It's always so much fun celebrating with friends.
Keeping your hanging petunias healthy in the hot sun must be a full time job but you're being rewarded with such beauty and doing a good job of it.
    Have a great day.
    Hugs,
