Braised Stuffed Kampung Chicken (Ngoy Por Or Maternal Grandma's Chicken).

Last Thursday night, we were at Pete Corner, Menglembu for Western style dinner after a long absence. Hubby ordered a Special Grill Lamb and I ordered a Garlic Sauce Chicken. I didn't take any photos so I won't be posting about this dinner. We were the early birds and we didn't have to wait long for our dinner. We also got to chat with the chef and our conversation touched on Chinese New Year topic. That was how we got to know about this new chicken recipe that the chef will be preparing for take away for the Chinese New Year for the reunion dinner. Since I have not decided on what to cook for our reunion dinner, we were interested and keen to try out this chicken dish. We booked one chicken to try for the next day's dinner.
It was a Friday evening and it looked it was going to rain.
Hubby and I plus 2 other friends heading to Menglembu on the highway.
Enjoying the view of the low clouds and mountain.
We are enjoying cool weather due to the rainy days.
Arrived at Pete Corner at about 6.30 pm.
Braised Stuffed Whole Kampung Chicken with gravy in a big beautiful ceramic bowl.
It smelled so good!
Then the Chef came to cut the chicken.
He cut and took off the breast part of the chicken to reveal the treasures that were stuffed inside. The stuffing consists of Chinese mushroom and pieces of pork belly. After my photo shots, we started to partake together this delicious chicken dish.
And a plate of mixed vegetables was added for a balanced meal.
Praise and thanks to our Lord for a delicious dinner with friends.
Before we left, hubby placed an order for this chicken dish. That means I have less one dish to prepare for our home cooked reunion dinner. Yay!

Blessings on all who reverence and
trust the Lord - on all who obey him!
Their reward shall be prosperity and happiness.
Your wife shall be contented in your home.
And look at all those children!
There they sit around the dinner table as vigorous
and healthy as young olive trees.
That is God's reward to those who reverence and trust him.
(Psalm 128:1-4, The Living Bible-TLB)

    1. If only the chicken, then enough for 2. For four people, we had rice plus the mix veggie.
