Once again it is time for friends and ex-colleagues to gather for the year end thanksgiving lunch. In Cantonese it is "sau koong" and the literal translation is "close work" for the year, according to the Chinese calendar. The first day of the Chinese New Year falls on the 16th February, 2018. So one week before the year 2017 ends (following the Chinese calendar). 5 retirees and 5 still working met for lunch at the Restoran Kim Wah.
Friday lunch is the most convenient due to the long lunch hours. There are some that we only get to meet once or twice a year, so this is the rare opportunity to catch up with one another.

A must have dish - The Tossing for Prosperity Salad (Loh Hei)
Yellow wine chicken in claypot.
Combination of 4 types of veggie, stir fry with spicy prawn paste.
(cabbage, long beans, ladies fingers, purple eggplant)
Braised pig's leg with dried cuttlefish, etc. in clay pot.
Deep fried tofu topped with minced pork.
Roast duck.
Deep fried soya sauce prawns
Deep fried fish with sweet Thai chili sauce.
Very soon the number of retirees will outnumbered those still working.
Group photo for sweet memories - one for the album!
To all readers and friends
Have A Blessed And Joyous Chinese New Year!
Sound the trumpet! Come to the joyous celebration
at full moon, new moon, and all the other holidays.
