Breakfast, Lunch & Snack - Penang Foodie Marathon Day 1.

Sometimes the trips we planned way ahead never happened but those that we planned at a short notice happened. For our latest Penang foodie trip, we started our journey at about 6:30 am.
This photo was taken just before we entered the Menora Tunnel - 7:00 am.
Driving on the north bound highway on a fogging morning.
Driving on the 1st Penang bridge - 8:30 am.
Thank God, the haze was not too bad that day.
First thing we did was to feed our hungry stomach with our favourite koay teow th'ng at Kedai Makanan 113, Lebuh Melayu, Georgetown.
Breakfast crowd.
3 bowls of koay teow th'ng (duck meat noodles) to be shared by 6 people.
By sharing, we get to taste more varieties.
A close up view of the duck meat noodle (koay teow th'ng).
A bowl of fish balls.
A plate of braised duck meat, innards, tofu and eggs.
This breakfast was first on our foodie list.

Next, we went for our 2nd item on our foodie list.
Air Itam Assam Laksa.
2 big pots of assam laksa soup - 10:20 am.
Again, we ordered 3 bowls of assam laksa for 6 people.
That settled our craving for assam laksa. We realized that the soup was not as thick as before, and that was much later in the day.

Item 3 on our foodie list - Deep fried snack.
Our favourite stall selling deep fried tee kuih (sticky glutinous rice with taro and sweet potato slices) at Jalan Free School.
There were already customers waiting ahead of us.
Price list for the fried snacks.
Bought these deep fried snacks.
Some of us just couldn't resist, we just had to sink our teeth into these in the car.
*     *     *     *     *
4 item on our foodie list - Starbright Coffee.
The stall is opposite this Penang Hotel Collection at Lebuh Nordin.
This time there was no long queue, probably we were early - 12:30 pm.
We still have to wait in queue for our coffee to be prepared. They have now upgraded - there is a shop with tables and chairs for customers to enjoy their coffee.
Starbright coffee - 3 hot and 1 cold - to be shared.
From here, we drove to Tropicana 218 Macalister where we booked an apartment for our one night stay. To be continued in my next posting.

Praise the Lord!
For all who fear God and trust in him are blessed beyond expression.
Yes, happy is the man who delights in doing his commands.
His children shall be honored everywhere,
for good men's sons have a special heritage.

  15. Bien temprano que han salido, para llegar pronto a su destino. La niebla espesa habrá hecho que tengan que ir más despacio por la carretera.

Al estar fuera de casa no hay más remedio que desayunar, almorzar y merendar en distintos establecimientos.
